WhatsApp Business API for Payyanur's bronze workshops, khadi shops and estate units
Payyanur hosted the 1928 Congress conference that called for Purna Swaraj, and its municipality still lists bronze, handloom and khadi among its trades. Their buyers can be anywhere along the coast, and the first question can come on WhatsApp.
For Payyanur's bronze sculpture and utensil makers, its handloom and khadi shops, the units on the municipal industrial estate at Korom and the lodges and cabs near Kavvayi and Ezhimala: how long a buyer's WhatsApp window stays open, what can be sent inside and after it, and what each message costs.

One bronze buyer's 24 hours with a Payyanur workshop
A customer in Kochi writes to a Payyanur bronze workshop about a lamp at ten in the morning. Drag the clock to see what the workshop can send at each hour, and when the window closes.
The window runs from the buyer's latest message, so a buyer who keeps asking keeps it open. When the lamp is finished a week later, the workshop opens with a utility template, and the buyer's reply starts a fresh window for the delivery details.

Payyanur in nine lines
From Payyannur Municipality, the Kannur district administration and Invest India's ODOP list; geography is general background from Wikipedia.
The town's name may come from Payyan, another name for Lord Subramanya, the region's presiding deity; the Sree Subrahmanya Swami temple stands here.[1],[5]
Kavvayi, a port town, was the region's principal centre before Payyanur grew, and lost its place as overland transport developed; the municipality links it to the Kachil of the Payyannur Pattu.[1]
A Congress political conference held in Payyanur on 26 May 1928, presided over by Jawaharlal Nehru, adopted the resolution for Purna Swaraj, and the town came to be called the Second Bardoli.[1]
In April 1930, volunteers led by K. Kelappan marched from Kozhikode to Payyanur's shore to break the salt laws; the municipality records 32 marchers, led by Kelappan and P. Krishna Pillai, making salt at Uliyath Kadavu.[3],[1]
Gandhi visited in 1934 to collect for the Harijan Fund; a mango tree he planted and a memorial are kept at Sree Narayana Vidyalayam. In 1935 N. Subramanya Shenoy began organising the town's beedi workers.[1]
Payyannur Grama Panchayat was formed in 1935, one of three set up by the Madras Government; it became a municipality in 1990 and First Grade in 2014, covering the villages of Payyannur, Vellur and Korom.[2]
The municipality lists handloom, khadi, coir, beedi, pottery, bronze sculpture and utensil making as traditional industries, owns an industrial estate at Korom, and grows paddy, coconut, arecanut, banana and vegetables.[2]
The town lies on NH66 about 36 km north of Kannur, beside the Perumba, Punnakka and Kavvayi rivers, with a station on the Shoranur–Mangalore line; Kavvayi island, Ezhimala and the Indian Naval Academy are nearby.[5]
Invest India's ODOP list (V33) names handloom products for Kannur district.[4]

Who in Payyanur starts first
Four businesses from the municipality's own list of trades and from the visitors its coast and hills bring.
- 01
Bronze sculpture and utensil makers
One of Payyanur's traditional industries, sold to buyers who want to see each piece before ordering.[2]

- 03
Units on the Korom industrial estate
The municipality owns an industrial estate in Korom village, one of the three villages it covers.[2]
On WhatsApp: Quotation replies · Dispatch notes with the invoice · Payment reminders
- 04
Lodges and cabs near Kavvayi and Ezhimala
Kavvayi island, about 3 km away, and Ezhimala, home of the Indian Naval Academy, are both near the town.[5]
On WhatsApp: Room and route answers · Booking confirmations · Pickup details from Payyanur station
Malayalam, with English and Hindi
Malayalam (ml) is a Meta template language; so are English and Hindi for buyers and visitors from elsewhere.
A piece-ready note in Malayalam and the same note in English sit under one template name, and Meta approves each on its own. Whatever a buyer writes in, the workshop answers in kind, because replies are not templates. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.
| Language | Meta code | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Malayalam | ml | Customers, growers and most of the coast |
| English (India) | en_IN | Invoices, buyers' offices and visiting families |
| Hindi | hi | Visitors and buyers from northern states |

Questions Payyanur businesses ask
Question: A customer in Kochi asks our Payyanur bronze workshop about a lamp. How long can we keep sending photos and prices?
Answer: For 24 hours from the customer's latest message. Inside that window every photo, price and payment link is a reply at ₹0.145, with no template. Each new question from the customer restarts the 24 hours; once it lapses, only an approved template can go.
Question: Our Payyanur khadi shop wants to tell customers about new stock before Gandhi Jayanti. What do we need first?
Answer: A recorded yes from each customer to hearing offers, and an approved marketing template. The message costs ₹0.94 per delivered copy and goes only to customers whose opt-in is stored with its date and source; anyone who replies STOP is not messaged again.
Question: Our unit on the Korom industrial estate in Payyanur sends dispatch notes to buyers in Mangaluru. Is that a different rate?
Answer: No. A dispatch note for an order the buyer placed is a utility template at ₹0.19, and Meta prices by the recipient's country code, so a buyer on an Indian number in Mangaluru costs the same India rate as one in Payyanur.
Question: Families visiting cadets at the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala ask our Payyanur lodge about rooms. Can we answer on WhatsApp?
Answer: Yes. The family wrote first, so the tariff, photos and directions from Payyanur station are replies at ₹0.145 for 24 hours. A booking confirmation with their dates, sent after they book, is a utility template at ₹0.19.
Question: Visitors ask our Payyanur cab service the way to Kavvayi island. Is the reply marketing?
Answer: No. Anything you send because a visitor asked is a reply at ₹0.145, whatever it contains. Telling past passengers about a backwater tour package they did not ask about would be marketing, and needs their opt-in first.
Question: Arecanut and coconut growers in Vellur and Korom message our Payyanur trading firm with their lots. Can a menu take the details?
Answer: Yes. An InfiQ Flows menu can ask for the crop, the quantity and the collection point, and pass the lot to staff to price. Every answer to a grower who wrote first is a reply at ₹0.145 and needs no template.
