WhatsApp Business API for Malerkotla's foundries, embroiderers and fair-day trade

Malerkotla dates its beginning to 1454, when Behlol Lodhi's daughter married the Sufi Haider Shaikh, and it became Punjab's 23rd district in 2021. Its foundries, embroiderers and fair-day trades all take orders by message.

For Malerkotla's foundries and agricultural-machinery makers, the units that hand-embroider badges and insignias, vegetable commission agents, and the sweet shops and caterers busy at Eid and the dargah fair: which message is a reply, utility or marketing, in Urdu or Punjabi, and what each costs in rupees.

Malerkotla in eight lines

From the Malerkotla district administration's pages and Invest India's ODOP list.

Malerkotla was carved out of Sangrur as Punjab's 23rd district on 2 June 2021; it covers 684 sq km in three subdivisions, Malerkotla, Amargarh and Ahmedgarh, and counted 429,754 people in the 2011 Census.[1]

In 1454 Sultan Behlol Lodhi married his daughter Taj Murassa Begam to the Sufi Shaikh Sadr-ud-Din, Haider Shaikh, with a dowry of villages; the district's history page calls this the foundation of Maler.[2]

In 1705 Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan protested at the Sirhind court against the execution of Guru Gobind Singh's two younger sons; his cry became the 'haa da naara', and Gurdwara Haa da Naara Sahib commemorates it.[2],[3]

The state stayed under British protection until 1947, joined PEPSU in 1948 and later became part of Punjab; the district notes it stayed calm through the violence of Partition.[2]

Haider Shaikh's dargah in the town centre holds a gathering on the first Thursday of every month and its largest fair in May–June, on the Jeth and Hadd Chaunki Thursdays.[3]

The Eidgah on the Sangrur–Ludhiana highway is described by the district as one of India's largest and the largest in Punjab.[3]

The district is a major supplier of vegetables to this part of Punjab, its artisans make hand-embroidered badges and insignias for the armed forces, and it is known for its metal industry and agricultural machinery.[1]

Invest India's One District One Product list names metal casting as Malerkotla's primary product and embroidery as its second.[4]

Five Malerkotla trades, three kinds of message

Each row is a trade in the town; each column is one of Meta's categories. Focus a cell to see what that trade sends in it and why it falls there.

Read the matrix by column and the rule is the same for every trade. Replies cost the service rate and need no template. Utility templates update something the customer already ordered or booked. Marketing templates sell, and go only to people who agreed to receive them.

Read it by row and it becomes a checklist of the three templates each trade needs approved. The 24-hour service window explains when a reply is possible.

Urdu, Punjabi and English, as the district lists them

The district names Urdu, Punjabi and English as its languages, and all three are Meta template languages. Meta approves each version separately; add Hindi for buyers from other states.

Inside the 24-hour window, replies can be in any language your staff write, so a customer who writes in Urdu can be answered in Urdu without a template. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.
