WhatsApp Business API for Sangrur's commission agents, rice mills and labs

The rulers of Jind State spent their summers by Banasar Bagh, and Sangrur became a district of its own in 1948. Today a farmer's sale receipt and a patient's report notice both leave the town as WhatsApp messages.

For Sangrur's commission agents and grain traders in a district on Punjab's paddy-to-maize pilot, the rice mills that buy its paddy, and the clinics and labs around the PGIMER satellite centre: which messages are replies, utility, login codes or marketing, how to write them in Punjabi, and what each costs.

See it work

A farm message or a patient message: may it go, and as what?

Sangrur's businesses write to two very different readers: farmers selling grain, and patients waiting on a report. Answer the questions for one message to see what Meta's rules make of it.

The two branches end in the same few outcomes. What changes is the care: a farmer's receipt can carry the amount, but a patient's results are better kept behind a portal link than placed in a chat that others in the family may read.

The 24-hour service window explains the farm branch's first question.

Depth 0 of up to 3. Circles are questions, squares are outcomes.

All possible outcomes (5)
  • Service reply

Answer freely, in Punjabi or any language, with no template. Each new message from the farmer opens a fresh 24-hour window.

Path: “A farmer who sells grain through us” → “Yes, he asked about his payment or the day's rate”

  • Utility template

About a sale, booking or test the reader already made, with no offer. Approve it once in Punjabi and send it from your system.

Path: “A patient of our clinic or lab” → “Your report is ready to collect or view”

  • Send a link, not the results

Families often share a phone. Send a report-ready utility template with a portal link, and let the patient open the results after a login code.

Path: “A patient of our clinic or lab” → “The test results themselves”

  • Authentication template

The code and its expiry, nothing else.

Path: “A patient of our clinic or lab” → “A code to open the lab's report portal”

  • Marketing template, opt-in only

Only to farmers or patients who agreed to receive offers on WhatsApp, with the yes recorded; a past sale or visit is not that agreement.

Path: “A patient of our clinic or lab” → “A discounted health-check package”

Illustrative messages from a Sangrur commission agent, rice mill or diagnostic lab, with no real rates or results. The outcome sets the message category; the category sets the price.

Sangrur in seven lines

From the Sangrur district website's about, history and tourist pages and IBEF's Punjab profile; Jind State's buildings and the PGIMER satellite centre from the encyclopaedia, as general background.

The district takes its name from its headquarters town, said to have been founded by a Jat named Sanghu about four hundred years ago; it is one of four districts in Patiala Division.[1],[2]

Sangrur district was formed in 1948. Its history page traces the area to the Phulkian states of Jind, Nabha and Patiala and the state of Malerkotla, and notes that the town itself was earlier part of Nabha State.[2]

It is bounded by Ludhiana district to the north, Barnala to the west, Patiala to the east and Fatehabad district of Haryana to the south.[1]

Sangrur is linked by road with Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Budhlada and Delhi, and by rail with Ludhiana and Jhakhal in Haryana; most of the district's municipal towns have railway stations.[1]

The district's tourist list includes the marble baradari of Banasar Bagh, the Kali Mata temple, Gurudwara Nankiana Sahib on the outskirts of the town, and the Bir Aishwan wildlife sanctuary.[3]

The rulers of Jind State spent their summers in the buildings around Banasar Garden; the Jind State Durbar Hall, built in or around 1865, is now a museum, and a PGIMER satellite centre provides medical care in the town.[5]

IBEF names Sangrur among six districts in a pilot to move farmers from paddy to kharif maize, and lists agro-based industries and food products among Punjab's key industries and rice among its main exports.[4]

Who in Sangrur writes to farmers and patients

Three kinds of business, on the farm side and the hospital side of the town.

Commission agents and grain traders

Farmers selling paddy want the day's arrivals, their sale receipt and the payment on record, without waiting at the shop.[4]

  • Payment and rate replies
  • Sale receipts as utility templates
  • Payment-credited notices

Rice mills

Rice is among Punjab's main exports and food products among its key industries, IBEF says; a mill buying a district's paddy confirms lots and payments with agents.[4]

  • Lot and weighment confirmations to agents
  • Dispatch notes to rice buyers
  • Payment-due reminders

Clinics and labs

Patients come into Sangrur for care, including at the PGIMER satellite centre, and want appointments, report notices and reminders.[5]

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Report-ready notices with a portal link
  • Portal login codes

Language

The report-ready notice in Punjabi, Hindi and English

Most farmers and patients around Sangrur read Gurmukhi, patients from across the Haryana border often prefer Hindi, and labs keep English for doctors and insurers. Meta reviews each language version separately.

Inside the 24-hour window after a farmer or patient writes, staff can reply in any language without a template. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.

A REST API with scoped keys, idempotency keys and per-key rate limits, plus HMAC-SHA256-signed webhooks retried for 24 hours. Included on Growth, an add-on on Lite.

A lab's software or a commission agent's books send report notices and sale receipts themselves, with signed webhooks reporting delivery.

  • Account security controls

TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest, role-based access, two-factor sign-in, scoped API keys with IP allow-lists, and hash-chained audit logs.

Two-factor sign-in, role-based access and audit logs keep a lab's patient chats to the staff who should see them.

  • Consent records and opt-out enforcement

Each contact's opt-in source and time are recorded, STOP replies are enforced at platform level (even against later imports), and the audit trail exports.

Questions Sangrur businesses ask

  1. Q1

Our commission agent's shop in Sangrur sends farmers a receipt for each lot of paddy sold. Is that a utility template?

Yes. A receipt for grain the farmer already sold, with the weight and amount and no offer, is a utility template at ₹0.19. Approve it once in Punjabi; your books can send it for every farmer through InfiQ's API.

  2. Q2

Sangrur is in Punjab's paddy-to-maize pilot. Can our commission agency tell farmers we will now take their kharif maize too?

If a farmer asks, your answers are replies at ₹0.145 each for 24 hours. Telling farmers unasked that you now take maize is marketing at ₹0.94, only to farmers who agreed to receive offers on WhatsApp, with the yes recorded.

  3. Q3

Patients come to Sangrur for the PGIMER satellite centre and to our lab nearby. Can we send report-ready notices on WhatsApp?

Yes, to patients who gave their number for updates. A notice that a report is ready, with a link to view it, is a utility template at ₹0.19. A code to open the portal is an authentication template at ₹0.14.

  4. Q4

Should our Sangrur lab put the test results inside the WhatsApp message itself?

We suggest not. Families often share a phone, so send the report-ready notice with a portal link and let the patient open the results after a login code. Keep health-check offers separate, as marketing, for patients who opted in.

  5. Q5

Many of our Sangrur clinic's patients come from Fatehabad across the Haryana border. Can their reminders be in Hindi?

Yes. Hindi (hi) is a Meta template language, so approve a Hindi version of each reminder beside the Punjabi one; each is reviewed separately and both cost the same ₹0.19. Replies inside the window need no template.

  6. Q6

Visitors to Banasar Bagh's marble baradari book our Sangrur guesthouse. Can we confirm their rooms in Punjabi?

Yes. Answers to a visitor's questions are replies at ₹0.145 each. A booking confirmation sent later, after the chat has gone quiet, is a utility template at ₹0.19, approved in Punjabi (pa) and English.
