Pick a number as it sits in an old dealer ledger, with a leading 0, a 91 without the plus, spaces or dashes, and watch it become the single form the WhatsApp Business API sends to.
A rice mill's dealer list is usually its oldest asset: names and numbers collected at the gate, on the phone and from each season's bills. Before any of it goes into WhatsApp, each number needs the same form, and each dealer needs a record of agreeing to order updates.
Cleaning the numbers is mechanical; the consent is not. A number in the ledger is a buyer, not an opt-in. The India guide covers consent under the DPDP Act, whose duties apply from 13 May 2027, and the 24-hour service window explains when a dealer's own message lets the mill reply freely.
From the ledger's numbers to E.164
E.164 is the one format phone APIs agree on: a +, the country code, then the number — no spaces, no leading 0.

The district site gives Koppal 5,570 sq km, 629 villages and 7 blocks, with a population of 13,89,920 and literacy of 68.09%, lists Kannada and Hindi as its languages, and carries the banner Rice Bowl of Karnataka.[1]
Anegundi, in Gangavathi taluk, was the first capital of the Vijayanagara dynasty; its old palace and fort remain and the Anegundi Utsava is held there each year. Anjanadri Parvata, Navabrindavana, Pampa Sarovara and Rishimukha hill are among the district's listed places.[1]
Gangavathi is a centre of the rice-milling industry, with paddy grown across its rural areas; it lies close to the Tungabhadra dam, about 14 km from Hampi, on the Mahabubnagar–Munirabad railway line, and was part of Raichur district before Koppal was formed.[6]
The ODOP list names Kinnal toys as Koppal's product. The district's handicraft page says Kinnal artisans, called chitragara, use lightweight wood and tamarind-seed paste, and credits their ancestors with murals at Hampi's Pampapateshwara temple.[4],[2]
The agriculture department runs Raitha Samparka Kendras at hobli level for crop advice, inputs and soil and seed testing (page last updated 2020).[3]
IBEF reports Sumitomo Corporation's plan, announced in September 2025, for a Rs 2,345 crore steel plant in Koppal, and puts Karnataka's GSDP at Rs 32.81 trillion in FY26.[5]
