WhatsApp Business API for Koppal's rice mills, Kinnal craft and travel desks

Koppal was Kopana Nagara in the ninth-century Kavirajamarga and became a district of its own only in 1998. Its rice mills now take paddy, orders and payment questions on the same phone.

For the rice mills and traders of a district that calls itself the Rice Bowl of Karnataka, the Kinnal toy makers behind its ODOP entry, and the lodges and travel desks busy at Gavimath Jatre and on the road to Anegundi: how one WhatsApp number sends each chat to the right desk, and what each message costs.

See it work

One Koppal rice mill's number, three desks

Growers in Gangavathi taluk write about paddy, retailers ask for rates, and a kitchen preparing for the Jatre wants rice in bulk, all on the same number. Pick a routing rule and watch where each chat goes.

With skills routing, a grower's lot goes to the paddy desk and a payment question to accounts, and nobody has to forward screenshots. Sticky routing keeps a grower with the person who weighed his last lot.

Every answer here is a reply to a chat the customer opened, at the service rate, in Kannada or whatever the customer wrote in. Only the payment note sent days later, after the window has closed, needs an approved template.

Koppal in eight lines

From the Koppal district administration, Invest India's ODOP list and IBEF's Karnataka profile.

The district was once called Kopana Nagara and is named 'Viditha Maha Kopana Nagara' in the Kavirajamarga of King Nrupathunga's time (814–878 AD); it was known as Jainkashi as Jainism gained ground here.[2]

Until 1 April 1998 Koppal was part of Raichur district in the Gulbarga revenue division; Hyderabad-Karnataka gained independence from the Nizam on 18 September 1948.[2]

The district covers 5,570 sq km with 629 villages and 7 blocks, lists Kannada and Hindi as its languages, and titles itself the Rice Bowl of Karnataka.[1]

Invest India's ODOP list (V33) names Kinhal toys for Koppala district; the district's handicraft page says Kinnal is famous for toys and religious idols made in lightweight wood by artisans called chitragara.[6],[3]

Gavimath, one of the region's most significant Lingayat monasteries, stands on a hill on the southern side of the city and holds its Jatre Mahotsava every year on Pushya Bahula Bidige.[5],[4]

Anegundi, in Gangavathi taluk on the left bank of the Tungabhadra, was the first capital of the Vijayanagara dynasty.[1],[4]

The district's places to visit include Hulikere lake 2 km from the city, Sanapur dam and lake on the Gangavathi–Munirabad road, the Venkatapati stepwell at Kanakagiri and the megalithic burial site at Hirebenkal.[4]

IBEF's Karnataka profile records Sumitomo Corporation's plan, announced in September 2025, for a steel plant in Koppal.[7]

Questions Koppal businesses ask

Growers in Gangavathi taluk message our Koppal rice mill about paddy while retailers ask for rates on the same number. Can each chat reach the right desk?
Yes. InfiQ's shared inbox lets the paddy, sales and accounts desks work one number, and routing by skill sends a grower's lot to the paddy desk and a rate question to sales. Every answer to a chat the customer started is a reply at ₹0.145.
Devotees book our Koppal lodge for Gavimath Jatre on Pushya Bahula Bidige. Can we confirm rooms on WhatsApp?
Yes. A confirmation for a room the devotee booked is a utility template at ₹0.19, with the dates and the booking number as variables, approved in Kannada or Hindi. Questions they send afterwards about timings or the walk up the hill are replies at ₹0.145.
Our Kinnal craft society sends buyers outside Koppal close-up photos of each toy and idol. Do those photos need approval?
No. When a buyer writes to ask about a piece, every photo and answer for the next 24 hours is a reply at ₹0.145, with no template. Only the packing or courier note you send days later, after the window closes, has to be an approved utility template.
Visitors ask our Koppal cab service about the drive to Anegundi and the Hirebenkal megalithic site. Is our answer marketing?
No. The visitor asked, so the route, the fare and the timing are replies at ₹0.145 each. If they book and you send the driver's name and vehicle number the evening before, that is a utility template at ₹0.19.
Our Koppal travel desk takes families to Sanapur dam and lake on the Gangavathi–Munirabad road. Can we send last year's customers a monsoon offer?
Only the families who agreed to hear offers from you. An offer sent unasked is a marketing template at ₹0.94, sent to people whose opt-in is recorded with its date and source. A reminder about a trip they booked is utility at ₹0.19.
Koppal's district office lists Kannada and Hindi. Should our rice mill's payment note go in both?
Write it in the language each grower reads. Kannada (kn) and Hindi (hi) are both Meta template languages; the same template name holds both versions, and each is approved on its own. Send each grower the version they prefer at ₹0.19.
