Washim in seven lines
From the Washim district administration, Invest India's ODOP list, Meta's pricing documentation and, for the town's history, Wikipedia.
Washim district counts 4,901.19 sq km and six talukas, Washim, Malegaon, Risod, Karanja, Mangrulpir and Manora, and lists Marathi and English as its languages.[1]
The Penganga is its main river, with the Kas, Arunavati and Katepurna; Akola, Amravati, Hingoli, Buldhana and Yavatmal districts surround it.[1]
The town was earlier Vatsagulma, capital of the Vatsagulma line of the Vakatakas; the district was formed from Akola on 1 July 1998.[4]
Washim is said to have had 108 tirthas; the Balaji temple and Padmatirtha are among its best known shrines.[2],[4]
The district's pilgrim places include the Antariksha Parshwanath Jain temple at Shirpur Jain in Malegaon taluka and Pohradevi in Manora taluka, home to the Banjara Virasat Nangara Museum.[2]
Invest India's ODOP list names soybean and soybean products for Washim, with cotton-related products and textiles as its second entry; the town joined the broad-gauge network in 2008.[3],[4]
Meta's 24-hour customer service window opens when a customer writes; outside it a business can send only templates, and only delivered messages are charged.[5]
