Narasaraopet and Palnadu, from the district's pages

Palnadu district was formed on 4 April 2022 out of Guntur district, with its headquarters at Narasaraopet, 3 revenue divisions and 28 mandals.[2]
The district gives Telugu and Urdu as its major languages and recalls the Palnadu War of 1182, a conflict within the Haihaya dynasty.[2]
Its economy is largely agrarian: cotton, chillies, tobacco, paddy and pulses, watered by the Krishna, the Prakasam Barrage and Nagarjuna Sagar.[2]
Limestone, Napa slabs, granite, copper and lead are mined, and cement manufacturing is centred around Piduguralla.[2]
Kotappakonda, the hill shrine of Trikoteswara Swamy about 13 km south-west of Narasaraopet, draws thousands of pilgrims on Sivaratri; the state is adding facilities and a ghat road.[3]
Kondaveedu Fort of the Reddy kings, Ethipothala Falls near Nagarjuna Sagar and the Guttikonda Bilam caves are among the district's landmarks.[2]
Invest India's ODOP list gives Palnadu (Narasaraopeta) four products: Durgi stone carving, Sattenapalli bedsheets, leather puppets and spice products.[4]
