Sabarkantha's headquarters, 80 km from Ahmedabad, where a district dairy union began in 1964 with milk from 19 village societies. Dairy runs on a daily clock, and so does WhatsApp's reply window.
For Himatnagar's milk societies, dairy-product distributors, Polo Forest homestays, clinics and suppliers: how an evening order and a dawn delivery fit WhatsApp's 24-hour window, which messages need a Gujarati template, and what each costs in rupees.
See it work
A retailer in Idar messages a dairy-products distributor in Himatnagar at nine at night for tomorrow's ghee, paneer and buttermilk. Drag the clock to see what the distributor can send freely and when only a template will do.
A distributor's day starts before the shops open, which is why the evening order matters. Everything the distributor sends in reply, from the confirmation to the van number at dawn, is inside the window the retailer opened.
The retailer's complaint at hour ten restarts the clock, so the fix and the bill go as ordinary replies too. Only when a retailer has been silent for a full day does the next message, a payment reminder say, need an approved utility template. The 24-hour service window sets out the rule.

Market brief
From the Sabarkantha district website, Sabar Dairy and IBEF's Gujarat profile.
Himatnagar is the headquarters of Sabarkantha, in north-eastern Gujarat about 80 km from Ahmedabad. The district covers 5,390 sq km in 8 talukas and 4 revenue sub-divisions, with 6 municipalities and 702 villages.[1],[2]
The 2011 census counted 14,73,673 people; literacy is 65.57%. Patels and Darbars are the major community groups, and the Dungari Garasia the largest tribal community.[1],[2]
The district borders Rajasthan to the north-east, Banaskantha and Mehsana to the west, Gandhinagar to the south and Aravalli to the south-east, and the Tropic of Cancer passes through it.[2]
The Sabarmati forms its western border; the Hathmati, Meshwo, Vatrak, Mazum, Vaidi, Harnav and Khari are its other main rivers.[2]
Poshina, Khedbrahma and Vijaynagar are mainly tribal, hilly and forested talukas under the Aravalli hills; Polo Forest in Vijaynagar is the district's listed nature destination, and Punsari was chosen as Gujarat's best village.[2],[3]
Sabar Dairy in Himatnagar was established in 1964 with milk from 19 primary co-operative societies; an Operation Flood-I project sanctioned in 1971 was sized for 1.50 lakh litres a day. Its products, from ghee to paneer and UHT milk, are sold through the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation.[4]
Gujarat produced 17.28 million tonnes of milk in 2024, fourth among states with a 7.49% share, according to IBEF.[5]
The dairy chain, the forest edge and a district town near Ahmedabad.
The district union grew from 19 village societies in 1964; societies answer their members about collections and payments.[4]
Ghee, butter, paneer, dahi, buttermilk and UHT milk are among Sabar Dairy's products, and a distributor carrying them can take retailers' orders on WhatsApp.[4]
Polo Forest in Vijaynagar draws nature lovers into the district's forested, hilly north-east.[3],[2]
As headquarters of an eight-taluka district on the Rajasthan border, 80 km from Ahmedabad, Himatnagar's clinics, suppliers and shops deal with customers from well beyond the town.[2]
Meta approves each template once per language. Gujarati comes first; the district's tribal dialects stay in the conversation.
The dialects spoken in Poshina, Khedbrahma and Vijaynagar are not on Meta's template list, so templates go in Gujarati or Hindi; once a customer replies, staff can answer in their own dialect for 24 hours. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

A distributor already taking orders on the WhatsApp Business app keeps the app on the same number while the API runs alongside it.
The order clerk, the van supervisor and the accounts desk answer one number together, with transfers and private notes, from evening orders to dawn deliveries.
If the books are kept in Busy, dues reminders to retailers go out on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee.
Each member's or retailer's opt-in is recorded with its source and time, and STOP is enforced across the account.

Question: Our village milk society near Himatnagar pays members for their milk. Can each member's payment statement go on WhatsApp?
Answer: Yes, to members who agreed to WhatsApp messages. A statement of a member's own payment is a utility template at ₹0.19 per delivered message; write it in Gujarati with the amount and the period. Questions members send back are answered freely inside the 24-hour window.
Question: Retailers in Idar and Prantij order ghee and paneer from our Himatnagar depot in the evening. Can we confirm at night and send the van details at dawn without a template?
Answer: Yes, if the dawn message goes within 24 hours of the retailer's order. Both are service replies at ₹0.145. If a retailer writes again, the window restarts; once a day passes with no message, a reminder needs an approved utility template.
Question: Visitors to Polo Forest book our homestay in Vijaynagar. Can confirmations go in Gujarati and Hindi?
Answer: Yes. Gujarati (gu) and Hindi (hi) are both Meta template languages, each version approved separately. A booking confirmation is a utility template at ₹0.19; directions and timings in reply to a guest's question are service replies.
Question: Customers from Poshina and Khedbrahma reply to our shop in their own dialect. Can our templates use it?
Answer: No. Meta approves templates only in the languages on its list, and the dialects of the district's tribal talukas are not on it. Keep templates short in Gujarati or Hindi; once the customer replies, staff who speak their dialect can carry on in it for 24 hours.
Question: Our supply firm in Himatnagar sells to buyers in Ahmedabad, 80 km away. Can quotations and dispatch notes go out on WhatsApp?
Answer: Yes. A buyer's enquiry opens a 24-hour window for free-form quotations; after an order, dispatch and invoice notes go as utility templates at ₹0.19, in English (India) or Gujarati. The developer API, included on Growth, lets your billing system send them.
Question: Our Himatnagar clinic sees patients from across the Rajasthan border. Do reminders to their numbers cost more?
Answer: No. Meta charges by the recipient's country code, and every Indian +91 number is billed at the India rate, so an appointment reminder costs ₹0.19 whether the patient lives in Sabarkantha or Rajasthan. Send it in Hindi or Gujarati, whichever the patient reads.
