From Karnataka Tourism, the Belagavi district administration, Invest India's ODOP list, IBEF's Karnataka profile and Meta's pricing documentation, with the town's history, mill and crafts from the encyclopaedia.
Gokak stands where the Ghataprabha and Markandeya rivers meet; it became a municipality in 1853 and passed to the British in 1818.[6]
Karnataka Tourism describes the Ghataprabha plunging 52 metres over a horseshoe-shaped sandstone cliff at Gokak Falls, a hanging bridge first built for textile-mill workers, and power from the falls that ran the neighbouring mill.[1]
It lists the 11th-century Mahalingeshwara temple near the falls, the two-tiered Godachinmalki falls on the Markandeya nearby, and July to February as the best time to visit.[1]
The district puts Gokak Falls about 60 km from Belagavi, with Gokak Road the nearest railway station.[2]
The spinning mill at Gokak Falls and its hydroelectric plant were set up in 1887; the area also has sugar and starch processing, and the town is known for wooden toys and karadantu.[6],[1]
Invest India's ODOP list names auto components and foundry for Belagavi district; IBEF lists engineering and automotive among Karnataka's key industries, with engineering goods its top export in FY26.[3],[4]
Meta charges per delivered message, and once 24 hours pass after a customer's last message the business can reach them only with a template.[5]
