Nipani in seven lines

Belagavi district, once known as Venugrama, the bamboo village, sits in a zone of cultural transition between Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa.[1]
Nipani's city municipal council was formed in 1987 and the town became a taluk headquarters in 2018; it is connected by NH 48.[5]
Kannada is the official language, and both Kannada and Marathi are widely spoken in the town; IBEF lists Kannada, Tulu, Kodava, Hindi and English for the state.[5],[2]
The Nipanikar Wada keeps 19th-century wall paintings, and the Ramling Mandir and the Tavandi Jain temples are among the town's other sites; a 19th-century water channel built under its founder can still be traced.[5]
