WhatsApp Business API for Fazilka's kinnow packers, rice mills and traders

Fazilka was undivided Punjab's biggest wool market until 1947. Today its district names two products, the kinnow and basmati, and a trader's one WhatsApp number often has to serve the mandi, the packhouse and the office at once.

Trade 1

Kinnow

Citrus fruit (kinnow) is Fazilka's ODOP product; packers answer buyers about lots, loading and payment.

Trade 2

Basmati

The district's second ODOP product, from a town the district calls one of India's major rice exporting centres.

Fazilka in eight lines

From the Fazilka district administration, IBEF's Punjab profile and Invest India's ODOP list.

Fazilka district covers 3,113 sq km with 362 villages, 4 municipalities and 5 blocks, and lists a population of 11,80,483 and a literacy rate of 86.03%.[1]

The town dates from 1844: locals called Vans Agnew's bungalow 'Bangla', and the town was later named after Mian Fazil Watoo.[1],[2]

The first railway line reached the town in 1898; a flood in 1908 destroyed most of it, and it was rebuilt.[1]

Fazilka lies 325 km west of Chandigarh, 85 km south-west of Ferozepur and 200 km south of Amritsar, about 11 km from the Pakistan border.[2]

Sadqi village on the border is the third joint check post after Wagah; the Asafwala War Memorial stands 7 km from the town.[3]

The town lies in a rice-growing, cotton-rich belt, and the district calls it one of India's major rice exporting centres.[2]

Invest India's ODOP list gives Fazilka citrus fruit (kinnow) and basmati rice; IBEF ranks kinnow among Punjab's top three fruits by production in 2024-25.[5],[4]

The Black Buck Sanctuary at Abohar spreads over about 18,650 hectares.[3]

Which setup fits your Fazilka business?

Two questions about who answers your number and what your software does settle most of it. Answer them for a packhouse, a rice mill or a shop.

Per-message charges come on top of every plan and are the same whichever you pick: a reply, a dispatch notice and an offer each have their own rate, shown in the pricing cards below.

The parts the setup tree points to.

  • WhatsApp Coexistence

Keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number while the API runs alongside it, within Meta's coexistence limits.

A packhouse whose number every grower and arhtiya has saved keeps it, with the WhatsApp Business app still on the owner's phone.

  • Shared team inbox

One WhatsApp number answered by a team: 10 users on Lite and 25 on Growth, agent and manager roles, transfers, private notes, labels and canned replies.

The mandi, the packhouse and the office answer one number together, with private notes on each buyer's thread.

  • Busy accounting integration

A native integration with Busy accounting software: 25 document types and automatic payment reminders on WhatsApp, with no integration fee.

Cotton and rice traders who keep books in Busy send payment reminders on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee.

  • Published per-market rates

InfiQ publishes its per-message rate for every Meta market in rupees, ex-GST, so the cost of messaging customers abroad is known before you send.

A basmati exporter sees the rupee rate for each importer's country before a sample photo or shipment update goes out.

Questions Fazilka businesses ask

  1. Q1

Our kinnow packhouse near Abohar loads trucks for buyers in other states. Can buyers get the loading details on WhatsApp?

Yes. A utility template carries the lot, the crate count, the truck number and the expected arrival, at ₹0.19 per delivered message to an Indian number. Send it to buyer contacts who agreed to dispatch updates; their replies open a 24-hour window for free-form answers.

  2. Q2

Arhtiyas bring paddy to our rice mill in Fazilka. Can each one get the weighment slip and payment confirmation on WhatsApp?

Yes. Write a Punjabi (pa) utility template with the weight, the rate and the amount, approved once by Meta, at ₹0.19 per delivered message. Ask each commission agent for consent when you first save their number; questions they send back are answered at ₹0.145 per reply.

  3. Q3

Our basmati export firm in Fazilka writes to importers in the Gulf. What does a message to a UAE number cost?

Meta charges by the recipient's country code, so a message to a +971 number is billed at InfiQ's published rate for the United Arab Emirates, shown in rupees on the pricing page. Your plan and invoice stay in rupees with GST.

  4. Q4

Our cotton ginning unit near Fazilka keeps its accounts in Busy. Can payment reminders to mills go out automatically?

Yes. InfiQ's native Busy integration sends payment reminders on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee, and supports 25 document types. Each reminder is a utility template at ₹0.19 per delivered message to an Indian number, excluding GST.

  5. Q5

Our sweet shop is known for Fazilka's Tosha. Can we send Diwali offers to regular customers?

Yes, to customers who agreed to receive offers. A festival offer is a marketing template at ₹0.94 per delivered message, approved in Punjabi, Hindi or both. An order confirmation for a box a customer has already ordered is utility, at ₹0.19.

  6. Q6

Visitors ask our taxi service about trips to the Sadqi border post and the Asafwala memorial. Can several drivers share one booking number?

Yes. The shared team inbox gives 10 users on Lite and 25 on Growth, with transfers and private notes, so the booking desk confirms the trip and the driver answers on the day from the same number. A pickup reminder is a utility template at ₹0.19.
