Cold stores
Growers store bags after the harvest and sell through the year; each wants to know their bags, chamber and rent without coming in.[3]

Banaskantha grows more potatoes than any other district in Gujarat, and Deesa is where the crop is researched, stored and sold. Growers and traders already ask about rates and stock on WhatsApp; the question is what a cold store may send back.
For Deesa's cold stores, potato and vegetable traders, processors' field teams and clinics: how the official WhatsApp Business API sends stock statements and purchase slips to growers, which templates to write in Gujarati and Hindi, what needs a grower's consent, and what each message costs in rupees.
See it work
Scrub the timeline: four dates from the town's history and its potato research, then the two that decide how a Deesa cold store or trader messages growers now.
A cold store already keeps a ledger for every grower: bags in, chamber, rent, bags out. WhatsApp can carry that ledger to the grower's phone as a statement, an approved utility template, without a trip to the counter.
What changes in 2027 is the list. A grower whose number sits in the ledger has not agreed to offers; record who said yes, when and where. The India guide sets out the DPDP timeline, and the 24-hour service window explains which replies need no template.

From the Banaskantha district website, SDAU's potato station page and IBEF's Gujarat profile.
The district's economy page calls Banaskantha the largest producer of potatoes in Gujarat, and first in the state for vegetables, with nearly 17.67% of the state's output.[2]
SDAU's Potato Research Station at Deesa began as a sub-centre in 1971–72 with ICAR funding and was strengthened in the Fifth Five Year Plan.[3]
Its mandate covers high-yielding varieties, disease and pest remedies, production technology, post-harvest research and seed of released varieties.[3]
In 2019-20 Gujarat grew potatoes on about 1.22 lakh ha at 30.46 t/ha, against India's 23.10 t/ha; about 29–30% of the state's potato area is under processing varieties.[3]
The station puts Gujarat's cold storage capacity at 28.77 lakh tonnes.[3]
SDAU also runs a Centre for Millets Research at Deesa.[4]
Banaskantha, named after the Banas river, borders Rajasthan; Palanpur is its headquarters, and Banas Dairy's milk union is based there.[1],[2]
IBEF puts Gujarat's GSDP for FY27 at Rs 33.24 trillion, with the primary sector at 17.97% in 2025-26.[5]
Four kinds of business that move potatoes and vegetables from the field to the buyer.
Growers store bags after the harvest and sell through the year; each wants to know their bags, chamber and rent without coming in.[3]
Buyers ask for rates, grades and truck loading, and with Banaskantha on the Rajasthan border, some of them write in Hindi.[1]
With close to a third of Gujarat's potato area under processing varieties, field staff send contracted growers reminders and purchase slots.[3]
The district's economy page puts Banaskantha first in Gujarat for vegetables, with nearly 17.67% of the state's output, so Deesa's traders deal in more than potatoes.[2]
Meta approves each template once per language. A Deesa cold store or trader usually needs Gujarati and Hindi, with English for banks and processors.
Inside the 24-hour window after a grower or buyer writes, staff can answer in any language without a template. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

|---|---|---|
| Gujarati | gu | Growers, local customers and every stock statement |
| Hindi | hi | Buyers and truck drivers from Rajasthan and the north |

Plan prices are monthly, in rupees, excluding GST; yearly billing is two months free. Messages are charged per delivered message on top of the plan, at the rate for the recipient’s country. Full details: InfiQ pricing. A cold store that sends each grower one statement a month pays the utility rate per grower; the growers' questions back are charged per reply. Invoices carry your Gujarat GSTIN.

Draft a Gujarati stock statement with a PDF header, a loading note and a rent reminder from the library, and track each through Meta's approval.
A trader or cold store keeping accounts in Busy can send payment and rent reminders on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee.
Rate lists and offers go only to buyers and growers who opted in, with segments by village and delivery reports for each send.
A trader already on the WhatsApp Business app keeps it on the same number while the API runs alongside, within Meta's limits.

Yes, to growers who agreed to receive it. A statement of their own bags, chamber and rent due is a utility template at ₹0.19, and it can carry the statement as a PDF header. Write it in Gujarati first; if a grower replies with a question, staff can answer freely for 24 hours, each reply at ₹0.145.
Yes. A message telling a contracted grower their purchase slot, weighbridge time or quality result is a utility template at ₹0.19, as long as it carries no offer. Through InfiQ's API the slot can be sent from the company's own system, with signed webhooks reporting delivery and replies.
Only the templates you send to both groups. Meta approves each language version separately, so a loading note that goes to Rajasthan buyers needs a Hindi version, and a stock statement for local growers needs Gujarati. Replies inside the 24-hour window need no template in any language.
Yes, as a marketing template at ₹0.94, and only to buyers who agreed to receive offers. A phone number in the sales ledger is not that agreement. Record each buyer's opt-in with its date and source; InfiQ enforces STOP replies at platform level, even against numbers imported later.
Yes. InfiQ's native Busy integration sends payment reminders on WhatsApp from your Busy data, with no integration fee. A reminder about the buyer's own invoice and amount due is a utility template at ₹0.19; keep any offer out of it, or Meta treats it as marketing.
