Manitoba keeps its summer clock
For years, Winnipeg moved between Central Daylight Time in summer and Central Standard Time in winter, and its distance from India moved with it: ten and a half hours, then eleven and a half. Manitoba's decision ends that. From 31 October 2026 the province stays on UTC−5, so the summer gap becomes the permanent one.
For an Indian team this is a small, welcome simplification. A Winnipeg morning at 9 a.m. is 19:30 in India every day of the year, which puts the start of Winnipeg's working day inside the Indian evening, early enough for one shift to cover it. Nothing needs to be rescheduled in November.
