A gap that no longer moves
Until 2026, Calgary's distance from India changed twice a year: eleven and a half hours in summer, twelve and a half in winter. Alberta's new law keeps the summer offset all year, so from November the gap stays at eleven and a half hours, and a schedule you set now will still be right in January.
It is a large gap. A Calgary working morning at 9 a.m. is 20:30 in India, and the end of the Calgary day is the small hours of the next Indian one. In practice an Indian team has two choices: an evening shift that overlaps Calgary's morning, or templates scheduled to land at the start of the Calgary day and replies picked up the next Indian morning, when Calgary has gone home.
Most firms do both: utility updates go out on a schedule, conversations that cannot wait go to whoever is on the evening shift. InfiQ's own support works India time, in English and Hindi.
