Vaniyambadi in six lines

Tirupathur district, declared on 28 November 2019 from Vellore, has two revenue divisions, Tirupathur and Vaniyambadi; Vaniyambadi is also one of its four taluks and four municipalities.[1]
The district page calls Vaniyambadi and Ambur a leather industrial area of southern India, with large and medium units making shoes and garments for export, and other small-scale industries beside them.[1]
The municipality was established by the British in April 1886, became Grade II in 1996, First Grade in 1998 and Selection Grade in 2008, and covers 9.54 sq km.[2]
Invest India's One District One Product list names leather products for Tirupathur, and IBEF counts leather tanning among Tamil Nadu's key industries and leather manufactures among its exports.[4],[5]
Islamiah College (Autonomous) is in Vaniyambadi, among institutions that include the Vaniyambadi Muslim Educational Society's schools.[3],[6]
The town stands on the Palar, Tamil is its main language with Urdu and Telugu also spoken, and its units make leather garments, gloves and shoes; Hyder Ali's forces took its British garrison in 1767.[6]
