A business day in Tel Aviv

WhatsApp Business API for Indian firms serving Tel Aviv through the Israeli week

Israel's working week starts on Sunday, the one day most Indian desks are closed. A Tel Aviv client who writes that morning should still get an answer, from an automated flow, an on-call agent or a reply inside the window.

  1. 08:30

Sunday: the Tel Aviv week begins. In India it is 12:00 on a day off.

  2. 10:00

A dealer asks for a parcel's memo number; the flow answers from your system at once.

  3. 13:00

An IT client reports an outage. It is 16:30 in Pune and the on-call engineer takes it.

  4. 17:00

Offices empty out at 20:30 India time; the rest waits, labelled, for Monday's desk.

Who answers a Tel Aviv question on a Sunday

At 10:00 on a Sunday a Tel Aviv customer asks about an order. In India it is 13:30 and the office is shut. Watch the question pass down the layers until somebody, or something, answers it.

The overlap between the two working weeks is Monday to Thursday. On Sunday Israel works and India mostly does not; on Friday the position is reversed for many Israeli offices. A programme that only runs on Indian office days leaves Tel Aviv customers waiting at the start of their week.

On InfiQ the first layer can be an InfiQ Flows chatbot, and the rest live in the shared team inbox, with labels, transfers and private notes for whoever picks the thread up.

Enters at the top, travels down through 5 layers

The layers are set up once: a flow for the common questions, labels for the rest, one person on call for the urgent ones, and the Monday desk for everything else, still inside the customer's 24-hour window.

Hop 5 of 5: the payload is in layer 5, Monday desk in India. Everything else is answered in free text on Monday morning, before 13:30 India time closes the window.

Tel Aviv and India, in the embassy's words

India's embassy in Israel sits on Hayarkon Street in Tel Aviv. Its pages describe the relationship and the people on both sides of it.

Full diplomatic relations began in 1992; the July 2017 visit made the tie a strategic partnership, raised in February 2026 to a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Prosperity.[1]

Trade grew from US$200 million in 1992, mostly diamonds, to a peak of US$10.77 billion in FY 2022-23, then fell to US$6.53 billion and US$3.75 billion in the next two years, which the embassy puts down to regional security and disrupted trade routes.[2]

Pearls and precious stones head the goods in both directions, alongside chemicals, machinery and electrical equipment.[2]

TCS, State Bank of India, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Wipro Infrastructure Engineering are among the Indian companies in Israel; an Adani-led consortium took over Haifa Port in 2022 for US$1.18 billion.[2]

A bilateral investment agreement was signed in September 2025, and terms of reference for a free trade agreement in November 2025.[2]

More than 48,000 Indian citizens live in Israel, mainly caregivers, construction and farm workers, diamond traders, IT professionals and about 1,000 students; the Indian Cultural Centre in Tel Aviv has run since January 2020.[1]

About 85,000 Jews of Indian origin live in Israel, most of them Bene Israel from Maharashtra, with smaller Cochini, Baghdadi and Bnei Menashe communities.[3]

Hebrew for Tel Aviv, Indian languages for the families

Meta approves each language version of a template separately. A Tel Aviv programme can need several, depending on who it writes to.

Order numbers and amounts stay in Latin digits inside a Hebrew template, so check how each variable sits in a right-to-left line before you submit. Replies inside the 24-hour window can be in any language your agents write; InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

Questions Tel Aviv businesses ask

Israel's week starts on Sunday, when our Indian office is shut. How do we answer Tel Aviv customers on Sunday mornings?
Put an automated flow first for the common questions, keep one person on call for urgent threads, and let the Monday desk answer the rest. A customer's message opens a 24-hour window, so a free-text reply on Monday morning before 13:30 India time still answers a 10:00 Sunday message.
Israel and India both abbreviate their clock as IST. How do we schedule a 09:00 Tel Aviv message without mixing them up?
Schedule in the Asia/Jerusalem time zone, not by abbreviation. In winter 09:00 in Tel Aviv is 12:30 in India; in Israeli summer time it is 11:30. Israel's clocks go back on 25 October 2026 and forward on Friday 26 March 2027, a few days before Europe's.
We send diamond parcels from Mumbai to dealers in the Ramat Gan diamond district next to Tel Aviv. Can consignment confirmations go on WhatsApp?
Yes, once the dealer has opted in. A confirmation about a parcel the dealer is expecting is a utility template, ₹0.4662 per delivered message to an Israeli number, usually in English. Keep memo and parcel numbers as variables so they are never retyped by hand.
Our bank serves Indian caregivers working in Tel Aviv. Should remittance alerts go to their Israeli or their Indian numbers?
To whichever number the customer gave and opted in on. An alert to a +972 number costs ₹0.4662; to a +91 number kept from home, ₹0.19. Approve the alert in Hindi and English and let each customer choose at opt-in.
Our Mumbai travel firm plans heritage trips for Bene Israel families in Tel Aviv. Can itineraries be in Marathi?
Yes. Marathi, code mr, is on Meta's template list, so an itinerary template can be approved in Marathi alongside Hebrew and English versions. Ask each family which language they want when they book; younger members may prefer Hebrew or English.
A Tel Aviv startup asked about our engineering services on WhatsApp. Can we follow up with offers later?
Answer what they asked inside the window they opened. Later promotions are marketing templates at ₹3.10 and need the startup's agreement first; Israel's spam law adds its own requirements for advertisements, which the Israel guide explains.
