Shahada in seven lines

Shahada is the seat of one of Nandurbar district's six tahsils and blocks, with Akkalkuwa, Akrani, Taloda, Nandurbar and Navapur.[1]
Its civic body, Shahada Nagarpalika (PIN 425409), is one of the district's four municipal councils, with Nandurbar, Navapur and Taloda.[2],[1]
The district profile places the major part of Shahada taluka, with Akkalkuwa and Taloda, in the interior of the Satpuda hills.[1]
It lists Bhil, Pawari, Kokani and Ahirani (Khandeshi) as the main languages of the rural areas, with Marathi, Gujarati and Hindi spoken in different parts of the district.[1]
The town stands on the Gomai river near the Tapi, with the Satpura range to the north; a Mahavir sculpture in the Gomai is known as Pandavleni.[4]
The Ankleshwar–Burhanpur highway passes through Shahada, and its nearest railway stations are Dondaicha and Nandurbar, both on the Bhusawal–Surat line. The Gujar community, who speak the Gujari dialect, strongly shape the town's culture, and its local foods include dal ladoo, chholano lot and sanjori.[4]
