Ahirani at the weighbridge, Hindi on the highway
A Chopda trader can hear three languages before lunch. Growers from the villages may write in Marathi or Ahirani; a buyer coming down SH-4 from Burhanpur writes in Hindi; the invoice is printed in English. The district itself lists all four.
On WhatsApp that is less of a problem than it sounds. Any reply can be in any language, so the clerk who speaks Ahirani answers in Ahirani. Only templates, the messages a firm sends first, have to be in a Meta template language, and for Chopda that means writing them in Marathi and Hindi, with English where a buyer's office wants it.
