A rebuilt temple, and a town that answers its visitors
The district's page on the Mangal Dev temple is unusually frank: for decades the site was neglected, and until 1999 its surroundings took the town's rubbish. Since the renovation, Amalner's visitors come with practical questions, the train from Surat or Bhusawal, a room for the night, a cab back to Dhule, and those questions now usually arrive on WhatsApp.
For a lodge or a shop, that is the cheapest kind of message. A visitor who writes first opens a 24-hour window, and every answer inside it, photos, a map pin, the price, is a reply at the service rate with no template. Templates come in later: the booking confirmation the day before, the receipt after check-out, and, only for visitors who said yes, a note about the next festival.
