Peddapalli district had 7,95,332 residents at the 2011 Census, in 14 mandals and two revenue divisions, Peddapalli and Manthani.[2]
It has 212 revenue villages and 263 gram panchayats, with one municipal corporation and three municipalities.[1]
Ramagundam is the district's largest city and, the district says, the fifth largest in Telangana; Peddapalli town is described as an educational hub mostly known for agriculture.[1],[2]
Peddapalli Junction is on the Grand Trunk line, with trains to Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Lucknow, and is the junction for the Peddapalli–Nizamabad line.[2]
The district has huge coal deposits, and its home page pictures the RFCL fertiliser plant and NTPC at Ramagundam.[3],[1]
Its important crops are paddy, green gram, maize, red gram and chillies, with cotton as a commercial crop and mango, citrus and sweet lemon in horticulture.[3]
The Godavari is the main river, and the SRSP is the main source of irrigation.[3]
