WhatsApp Business API for Jagtial's mills, cold storages and temple towns
A Godavari district carved out of Karimnagar, where many businesses still keep their farmers' and agents' numbers in a register. Getting those numbers into the right format is the first step to the WhatsApp Business API.
For Jagtial's rice mills, the cold storages of Korutla, the lodges of Dharmapuri and Kondagattu and the hostels near its colleges: how to turn a register of phone numbers into a WhatsApp contact list, which templates to write in Telugu, and what each message costs in rupees.
See it work
From a cold storage register to a WhatsApp list
A Korutla cold storage has farmers' numbers written every possible way. Pick a sample to see each turned into the international format WhatsApp needs.
A register kept over several seasons collects numbers with a 0 in front, numbers with spaces, and numbers someone copied with the country code. Cleaned up, they all become the same contact, so a farmer does not get the same message twice.
A clean number is not yet permission. Before a template goes to a farmer, they must have agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from you; note when and how they agreed, for example at the weighbridge or on the storage receipt. The compliance page explains how InfiQ records each opt-in.
Register numbers, made sendable
E.164 is the one format phone APIs agree on: a +, the country code, then the number — no spaces, no leading 0.

Any format works: spaces, dashes, brackets, a 0 or 00 prefix.

- Stripped 1 separator (spaces, dashes, dots, brackets).
- Dropped the leading 0 — a trunk prefix used only for domestic calls.
- Assumed India (+91): a 10-digit number starting 6–9 is an Indian mobile.
- Valid E.164: a + followed by 12 digits, nothing else.
Jagtial, from the district's own pages
What the district administration lists about its land, towns and trades, with one line from IBEF on the state.
Jagtial district was carved out of the erstwhile Karimnagar district and borders Nizamabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Peddapalli and Karimnagar.[2]

It has an Agricultural Research Station at Polasa, a seed farm at Chelgal, a JNTU engineering college at Nachupalli and a veterinary college in Korutla mandal.[2]

Across Telangana, agriculture and allied sectors account for 47.34% of workforce participation and 66.15% of rural employment.[3]

Questions Jagtial businesses ask
- Our cold storage in Korutla keeps farmers' numbers in a register, some with a 0 in front. Can we use them as they are?
- Convert them first: the WhatsApp Business API sends to numbers in international format, +91 followed by the ten-digit mobile number. Remove duplicates at the same time, because each delivered message is charged. Then send templates only to farmers who agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp.
- Our rice mill in Jagtial mandal pays growers after weighing their paddy. Can the payment advice go to them in Telugu?
- Yes. Meta accepts Telugu templates (te). A payment advice tied to a grower's own sale is a utility template at ₹0.19, with the weight, rate and amount as variables filled in by your accounts system or typed in the inbox.
- Devotees ask our Dharmapuri lodge about rooms near the Narasimha temple on the Godavari late in the evening. Can we reply the next morning?
- Yes, within 24 hours of their last message: inside that window your staff can answer in Telugu or any language without a template, each reply charged at ₹0.145. If the window has closed, send an approved utility template instead, for example a booking confirmation.
- Our cold storage in Korutla takes calls from farmers across several mandals. Can three of us answer the same number?
- Yes. The shared team inbox gives 10 users on Lite and 25 on Growth, with transfers, private notes and labels, so the office, accounts and the owner can each handle their own farmers on one number.
- Students from the JNTU college at Nachupalli enquire about our hostel. Can we send fee reminders to those who join?
- Yes. A fee reminder or notice for a resident who has joined is a utility template at ₹0.19. Messages promoting rooms to past enquirers who have not joined are marketing, at ₹0.94, and go only to people who opted in.
- Our shop near the Kondagattu Anjaneya temple wants to send festival offers. Who can receive them?
- Only customers who agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from you. A festival offer is a marketing template at ₹0.94 per delivered message. InfiQ records each opt-in and enforces STOP replies; start with a 7-day Lite trial, no card needed.
