Nuevo León and India, in two official sources
The Embassy of India in Mexico City and the U.S. Commercial Service on the state's industry and its India links.
Nuevo León's governor, Samuel García, attended CII's 9th India-LAC Conclave in August 2023; the state signed an industry MoU with Uttar Pradesh, and several Indian companies announced investments in Nuevo León.[1]
The Embassy calls the state one of the most important automotive hubs in Mexico, and reports an Indian EV-components company's plan to invest US$200 million in its first Mexican plant there.[1]
A delegation from India's Automotive Component Manufacturers Association met Mexican automotive firms and buyers in Mexico City and Monterrey in March 2024.[1]
The U.S. Commercial Service puts Nuevo León's share of automotive manufacturing at 12.8%, second in northern Mexico after Coahuila, with Kia, Hyundai, International and Daimler Buses present.[3]
It also describes an emerging aerospace cluster centred in Monterrey, focused on precision machining and composite manufacturing.[4]
