Greater MSP says the region is home to five of the world's 30 largest food companies and has the third-largest combined food-science and biomedical-engineering workforce in the US.[1]

The partnership says the region has more Fortune 500 companies per head than any other major US metro, and a finance and insurance sector more concentrated than Boston's, Atlanta's or San Francisco's.[1]
It puts health-industry employment in Minnesota at more than 500,000 people.[2]
Since 15 July 2025, Minnesota has been served by the Consulate General of India in Chicago, with Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin.[3]
