A Los Angeles day is an Indian night
During daylight saving, Los Angeles is twelve and a half hours behind IST; in winter, thirteen and a half. A 09:00 to 17:00 day in the city runs from 21:30 to 05:30 in India from March to November, and from 22:30 to 06:30 the rest of the year. Not one hour of it overlaps an ordinary Indian office day.
Turn it around and the problem is plain: most events in an Indian working day, a container gated in, an invoice raised, a dispatch scanned, happen while Los Angeles is asleep. Passcodes and urgent alerts should still go at once. Routine notices can wait, scheduled for 08:00 Pacific, which is 20:30 IST in summer and 21:30 IST in winter.
Questions run the other way. A buyer who writes at 14:00 in Los Angeles reaches India at 02:30 or 03:30 IST, and the 24-hour window stays open until 14:00 the next day in the city, so the first person on shift in India can still answer in free form. Decide early whether your buyers will accept a next-morning answer, or whether you need someone online through the Indian night.
