WhatsApp Business API for Kolar's flower traders, silk and dairy trades and suppliers

Kolar calls itself the city of silk and milk, and its farmers also grow flowers, with Bengaluru 70 km away. A grower asks the trader the day's rate on WhatsApp in the early morning; the reply needs no template, the payment slip the next day does.

Trade 1

Silk

Sericulture is one of the district's main sources of work, and the first word of its tagline.

Trade 2

Milk

Dairy is the other: the City of Silk and Milk, as the district site calls itself.

For Kolar's flower and produce traders, sericulture and dairy suppliers, automobile suppliers around Narasapura and Shivarapatna's stone carvers: how the official WhatsApp Business API carries a grower's rate question to a payment slip, which templates to write in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, and what each message costs in rupees.

A Kolar flower grower's question, followed to the payment slip

Trace one morning's lot through the diagram: the grower writes, the trader answers inside the window, the flowers go to Bengaluru, and the payment slip the next day goes as an approved template.

Many of the same growers write to a Kolar trader every morning in season. Answering them costs replies, not templates, as long as they wrote first. The message that needs planning is the one the trader starts: the payment slip after the lot is sold in Bengaluru.

Write that slip once in Kannada and Telugu and have each approved by Meta. The 24-hour service window explains the reply rule, and the India guide covers consent under the DPDP Act.

Kolar, from the district's own pages

From the Kolar district website, the Invest India ODOP list and IBEF's Karnataka profile, with the city's history and location from the encyclopaedia.

The district site gives Kolar 4,012 sq km, 6 taluks, 3,321 villages and 6 municipalities, with a population of 25,36,069 and literacy of 74.39%, under the tagline City of Silk and Milk.[1]

Its economy page (last updated 2018) names dairy, sericulture and floriculture as the main sources of work, calls Kolar the land of silk, milk and gold, and says farmers rely on borewells for irrigation and drinking water.[2]

The district's older names include Kolahala, Kuvalala and Kolala; the Cholas held it from 1004 to 1116, and the Kolaramma and Someswara temples stand in the city.[1]

The ODOP list names automobiles as Kolar's primary product and Shivarapatna stone craft as its secondary one.[4]

IBEF reports Honda's plan, announced in September 2025, to invest Rs 600 crore in an electric-vehicle unit at Narasapura, and puts Karnataka's GSDP at Rs 32.81 trillion in FY26.[5]

The district's tourism page lists Antaragange, Kotilinga, Kurudumale, Seethi Betta, Chikkatirupathi and Bangaru Thirupathi among its places to visit.[3]

Kolar was an early capital of the Western Gangas, lies about 70 km from Bengaluru near NH 75 and 32 km from Kolar Gold Fields, and sits in a region where Kannada, Telugu and Tamil meet.[6]

Four kinds of business, from the district's farms to its factories.

  1. 01

    Flower and produce traders

Growers bring the day's cut flowers and produce to traders who sell them on to city markets, and want the rate before they set out.[2]

On WhatsApp: Rate replies inside the window · Weight slips · Payment slips after the sale

  2. 02

    Sericulture and dairy suppliers

Rearers and dairy farmers buy inputs, feed and services from suppliers who tell them when an order is ready or a bill is due.[2],[1]

On WhatsApp: Order-ready messages · Monthly bills · Payment reminders

  3. 03

    Automobile suppliers and service firms

With automobiles as the district's ODOP product, suppliers, transporters and contractors work to plant schedules and shift changes.[4],[5]

On WhatsApp: Shift and roster messages to workers · Dispatch notes · Gate and pickup details

  4. 04

    Shivarapatna stone carvers

The district's ODOP craft: idols and carvings commissioned by temple committees and buyers across the south.[4]

Kannada first, Telugu and Tamil close behind

Meta approves each template once per language. Kolar sits where Kannada, Telugu and Tamil meet, so a trader or supplier often needs two or three versions of the same template.

Inside the 24-hour window after a grower or buyer writes, staff can reply in any language without a template. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

Questions Kolar businesses ask

Flower growers ask our Kolar trading firm the day's rate on WhatsApp every morning. Are those answers charged as templates?
No. Each grower's message opens a 24-hour window, and your answers inside it are free-form replies at ₹0.145 each. A weight slip sent in the same chat is a reply too. Only a message you start after the window has closed needs an approved template.
We sell Kolar growers' flowers in Bengaluru and pay them the next day. Can each grower get a payment slip on WhatsApp?
Yes, to growers who agreed to receive it. A slip with the grower's own lot, the sale amount and the deductions is a utility template at ₹0.19, as long as it carries no offer. Write it in Kannada and in Telugu for growers who read Telugu; Meta approves each version separately.
Kolar calls itself the city of silk and milk. Can a supplier to silkworm rearers or dairy farmers send monthly bills on WhatsApp?
Yes. A bill with the farmer's own purchases and the amount due is a utility template at ₹0.19. If your accounts are in Busy, InfiQ's native Busy integration sends bills and payment reminders automatically, with no integration fee.
Our contract firm near Narasapura sends workers shift changes for an automobile plant. Can those go on WhatsApp in Kannada and Telugu?
Yes, to workers who agreed to receive them. A shift or roster change is a utility template at ₹0.19; approve one version in Kannada (kn) and one in Telugu (te). A worker who replies to swap a shift opens a 24-hour window in which supervisors can answer freely.
Temple committees in Tamil Nadu commission idols from our Shivarapatna workshop. Can stage photos and the dispatch date go to them in Tamil?
Yes. Write the stage-photo and dispatch templates in Tamil (ta) as well as Kannada, each approved by Meta, and send them to the committee member who agreed to order updates. Each is a utility template at ₹0.19, with the photo as its header.
Can a Kolar flower trader send a festival-season offer on seeds and inputs to every grower who sells to us?
Only to growers who agreed to receive offers. Selling flowers to you is not that agreement. The offer is a marketing template at ₹0.94; record each grower's opt-in with its date and source. Start with a 7-day Lite trial, no card needed; once Meta business verification is complete, the number is usually live in about two hours.
