In Jaigaon the next customer may be one street away and in another country, on a +975 number.
Jaigaon faces Phuentsholing across the Bhutan Gate. Its customers may be on Indian +91 numbers or Bhutanese +975 ones, and Meta bills each by its own country code, so a Jaigaon business can pay two different rates for the same message.
For Jaigaon's travel agents and hotels serving tourists bound for Bhutan, its traders and gho and kira tailors with customers in Phuentsholing, and the district's furniture makers: what to send at each step of a Bhutan trip, how +975 numbers are billed, Bengali and Hindi templates, and rupee costs.
See it work
A family plans a Bhutan holiday through a Jaigaon agency. Climb the ladder to see what the agency may send at each step, and which step needs the family's consent.
Four of the five rungs are messages about a trip already booked, which need no further consent. The document checklist matters most: the immigration office opposite Jaigaon issues the permit only against originals, and a family that arrives with the wrong card loses a day.
The rules come from the Consulate General of India in Phuentsholing and can change, so an agency should keep its checklist template current and resubmit it for approval when it does.
Tier 5 · Asked for the next trip
Offers they agreed to
Why: Back in Jaigaon, the family asks to hear about the next Bhutan trip.
After the holiday the family agrees to hear about next season's tours; the agency records when and how, and every offer carries a way to stop.
Move 4 of 4: climbs to tier 5, Asked for the next trip (Offers they agreed to). Back in Jaigaon, the family asks to hear about the next Bhutan trip.
Market brief
From the Consulate General of India in Phuentsholing, the Alipurduar district administration, IBEF and Invest India, with the town's encyclopedia entry for its layout.
Jaigaon is a census town in Alipurduar district's Kalchini block, facing Phuentsholing across the Bhutan Gate, on the banks of the Torsa.[5]
Bhutan routes traffic through Jaigaon to reach its own southern towns such as Samtse, Gomtu, Nganglam and Samdrup Jongkhar.[5]
NH 317A connects Jaigaon to Hasimara, whose station on the Northeast Frontier Railway is about 15 km away.[5]
Entry permits are issued at the immigration office in Phuentsholing, opposite Jaigaon; Indian nationals need a passport valid for six months or an original voter ID, and an Aadhaar card is valid only for Phuentsholing.[1]
Since January 2025, Bhutan has captured biometrics from all visitors at the Phuentsholing pedestrian terminal; day visits under 24 hours are registered at the immigration counter.[1]
Gho and kira, Bhutan's national dress, are made in Jaigaon for Bhutanese customers, and demand from Phuentsholing has grown the town's services.[5]
IBEF describes West Bengal as a long-standing market for eastern India, the Northeast, Nepal and Bhutan.[3]
Invest India's ODOP list names wooden furniture, plywood and steel furniture as Alipurduar district's products.[4]
Four kinds of business with customers on both sides of the gate.
Agencies and hotels arrange the night before the crossing, the permit paperwork and onward travel for tourists bound for Bhutan.[1]
Tailors and cloth sellers make Bhutan's national dress for customers who come across from Phuentsholing.[5]
Shops and wholesalers sell to Indian and Bhutanese customers, many of whom order before they cross.[5],[3]
Wooden furniture, plywood and steel furniture are the district's ODOP products, sold to buyers in India and across the border.[4]

Plan prices are monthly, in rupees, excluding GST; yearly billing is two months free. Messages are charged per delivered message on top of the plan, at the rate for the recipient’s country. Full details: InfiQ pricing. A customer on a Bhutan +975 number is billed on the Rest of Asia Pacific line of Meta's rate card, not at the India rate, because Meta charges by the recipient's country code. InfiQ publishes that line's rates in rupees on the pricing page, and invoices in rupees with GST to your West Bengal GSTIN.
Work out your own monthly cost by message type.
Calculate your exact costMeta approves each template once per language. Neither Nepali nor Dzongkha is on its list.
Nepali and Dzongkha are not WhatsApp template languages, so templates go in Bengali, Hindi or English. A customer who writes in Nepali or Dzongkha can be answered in it within the 24-hour window, because free-form replies need no approval.

| Bengali | bn | Customers in Jaigaon and across West Bengal |
| Hindi | hi | Tourists from other states and Hindi-reading customers |
