Marketing-yard traders and commission agents
Growers sell their crops at the yard through agents and traders, and want the rate, the weight and the payment date.[4]

- Sale and weight slips
- Payment-made messages
Gondal's ruler laid his own railway and roads nearly a century ago, and the town still lives on moving crops: oil mills and the marketing yard. A grower asks a commission agent about the day's sale on WhatsApp; the reply is easy, the next day's payment slip is a template.
Trade 1
Oil mills
One of the two largest parts of Gondal's economy, buying seed and selling oil to shops and distributors.
Trade 2
Marketing yard
The other: the yard where growers' crops are sold to traders through commission agents.
For Gondal's marketing-yard traders and commission agents, its oil mills, cotton ginners and pressers, timber and hardware firms and the hotels in its old palaces: how the official WhatsApp Business API carries sale slips and dispatch notes, which templates to write in Gujarati, what needs consent, and what each message costs in rupees.
See it work
Scrub the timeline: four dates from the old state's history, then the two that decide how a Gondal trader or miller messages growers and buyers now.
A yard trader's contact list was built over years of auctions and phone calls. It holds people who sell to the trader, not necessarily people who agreed to offers, and from 2027 that difference has to be on record.
Sale slips and payment messages to growers who asked for them are a separate matter: they are utility templates, and replies inside the 24-hour service window need no template at all. The India guide sets out the DPDP timeline.

Event 6 of 6: 13 May 2027 — Consent duties under the DPDP Act (coming up). An offer to growers must rest on consent that meets the Act's standard and can be withdrawn as easily as it was given.
Five kinds of business, from the yard to the palace gate.
Growers sell their crops at the yard through agents and traders, and want the rate, the weight and the payment date.[4]
One of the two pillars of the town's economy: mills buy seed and sell oil to shops and distributors.[4]
A growing cotton trade with ginning and pressing units that sell bales to spinning mills.[4]
Timber trading and hardware making are among Gondal's trades. The town's Ayurvedic exporters are left out: Meta's policy bars medicine sales on WhatsApp.[4]
The Riverside Palace is a heritage hotel and the Orchard Palace wing of Huzoor Palace is open to the public.[4]
From the Gondal municipality's site, the Invest India ODOP list and IBEF's Gujarat profile, with the state's history and the town's trades from the encyclopaedia.
Gondal State was founded in 1634 by Kumbhoji I of the Jadeja dynasty and was one of the eight first-class princely states of the Kathiawar Agency.[4]
The municipality's site credits Bhagvatsinhji with the Veri Talav, built for drinking water when the town had about 15,000 people, and with the Bhagvadgomandal, a Gujarati dictionary compiled under his supervision.[1]
By 1935, it says, the state had built 12 large bridges, 1,000 culverts and 360 miles of paved road, ran a 106-mile railway from Dhasa to Jamjodhpur and held a share in the Jetalsar–Rajkot line.[1]
Oil mills and marketing yards are the largest parts of Gondal's economy, with cotton ginning and pressing, Ayurvedic medicine makers that export, jewellery design, timber trading and hardware making.[4]
The Naulakha Palace dates to the 17th century; the Riverside Palace (1875) is a heritage hotel; the Orchard Palace wing of Huzoor Palace is open to visitors; the Bhuvaneshwari temple is in the town.[4]
The ODOP list names engineering goods and machine products as Rajkot district's primary product and single ikat weaving as its secondary one.[2]
IBEF lists dairy, agro and food processing, and engineering and auto among Gujarat's key industries, with the secondary sector at 42.87% of GSDP in 2025-26.[3]
On InfiQ
For the yard's morning rush and the mill's dispatch desk.
One WhatsApp number answered by a team: 10 users on Lite and 25 on Growth, agent and manager roles, transfers, private notes, labels and canned replies.
A commission agent's rate desk and accounts answer one number together when growers write on auction days, with labels for each grower and notes on each lot.
A native integration with Busy accounting software: 25 document types and automatic payment reminders on WhatsApp, with no integration fee.
An oil mill or ginner keeping accounts in Busy sends bills and payment reminders on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee.
Draft, submit and track WhatsApp message templates for Meta's approval, starting from a library of 1,000+ ready templates in 27 categories.
Draft the sale slip, the dispatch note and the hotel's booking confirmation from the library in Gujarati, and track each through Meta's approval.
Each contact's opt-in source and time are recorded, STOP replies are enforced at platform level (even against later imports), and the audit trail exports.
A new-season offer goes only to growers and shops whose opt-in source and time are recorded, ready for the 2027 consent duties on the timeline.
Meta approves each template once per language. Most of a Gondal business's templates need only Gujarati, with Hindi for drivers and buyers from other states.
Inside the 24-hour window after a grower or buyer writes, staff can reply in any language without a template. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

The municipality's page on Bhagvatsinhji reads like an infrastructure ledger: a lake sized for two years of water, a railway from Dhasa to Jamjodhpur, hundreds of miles of road. Most of it was about moving water, people and goods.
The yard and the mills still work that way, only the paperwork has shrunk to a phone. A sale slip, a dispatch note or a payment message on the official API reaches the grower or shop with a record attached, and the reply comes back to the same desk.
