The collectorate's site gives Dahod district 3,642 sq km, 8 talukas, 696 villages and 3 municipalities, with a population of about 21 lakh, and dates the district to 2 October 1997, when Panchmahal was divided.[1],[2]
It borders Banswara district of Rajasthan to the north, Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh to the east and south, and Panchmahal to the west; the site spells them Vansvada and Zabua.[1]
