Biswanath Chariali is a junction town that took its name from a river ghat. Tea gardens surround it, the Gupta Kashi temples stand where the Burigonga meets the Brahmaputra, and NH 15 carries the trade of both.
Trade 1
Tea estates
Tea is the district's ODOP, and the gardens round the town send dispatch and payment notes to buyers far down the valley.
Trade 2
The ghat and the junction
Visitors to Gupta Kashi and shops on NH 15 ask for rooms, orders and directions before they arrive.
For the tea estates and traders around Biswanath Chariali, the stays and shops that serve visitors to Biswanath Ghat, and the wholesalers and colleges at the NH 15 junction: what happens to a WhatsApp message between the office and the customer's phone, which templates suit Bengali, Hindi or English, and what each costs.
See it work
A tea estate near Biswanath Chariali sends a dispatch note to a buyer in Guwahati. Follow it down through each layer it passes, and see where consent, the template's category and the buyer's country code each decide something.
Every message an estate sends first passes the same layers, but only two of them are the estate's choice: the template it picks and the consent it has recorded. The category and the rate follow from what the note says and where the buyer's number is registered.
Replies after the buyer writes skip the template layer altogether; the 24-hour service window explains why. The India guide covers consent under the DPDP Act.
PayloadDispatch note: invoice, chests and lorry
Enters at the top, travels down through 5 layers
Hop 5 of 5: the payload is in layer 5, The buyer's phone in Guwahati. Delivered. If the buyer replies about the lorry, a 24-hour window opens for free-form answers.
From the Biswanath district website, Invest India's ODOP list and IBEF's Assam profile, with the town's junction and colleges from its Wikipedia entry.
Biswanath district was bifurcated from Sonitpur under a government notification dated 26 February 2016, with its headquarters at Biswanath Chariali, in the North Assam division.[1]
The district site lists 2 sub-divisions and 4 revenue circles, an area of 2,003.24 sq km and a 2011 Census population of 7,19,933.[1]
The Biswanath temple stands at the confluence of the Bridhaganga (Burigonga) and the Brahmaputra; the ghat, known as Gupta Kashi, has a cluster of temples and once served as a river port.[1],[8]
The district's places of interest also include the Nagsankar temple at Sootea, about 15 km west of the town, and Monabarie Tea Estate.[1]
The town is a junction on NH 15, where it meets Pabhoi Road, and lies on the Rangiya–Murkongselek broad-gauge line; Tezpur's Salonibari airport is the nearest.[8],[1]
Tea gardens surround the town, and a mela is held at Biswanath Ghat on the third day of Bihu.[8]
Tea is Biswanath district's One District One Product.[2]
IBEF puts Assam's tea exports at Rs. 1,858.75 crore in FY26, 45.88% of the state's exports, and lists tea, food processing and tourism among its key industries.[3]
Four kinds of business, from the gardens to the ghat and the junction.
The district's ODOP, sold to blenders and wholesalers who want invoices, dispatch details and due dates on their phones.[2],[3],[8]
Visitors come to the Gupta Kashi temples and the Bihu mela, and to Nagsankar at Sootea, and ask the way, the room and the time.[1],[8]
Traders where NH 15 meets Pabhoi Road supply shops and the gardens and chase orders and payments across the district.[8]
Biswanath College and the Biswanath College of Agriculture draw students whose families want timetables and fee dates.[8]
Assamese is not a language Meta approves templates in, so Biswanath Chariali's templates go in Bengali, Hindi or English. Each language version is approved once.
Inside the 24-hour window, after a customer writes, staff can reply in Assamese or any other language without a template. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.
| Language | Meta code | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Bengali | bn | One of the town's main languages, and buyers in Kolkata |
| Hindi | hi | Customers from Hindi-reading families, drivers and traders |
| English (India) | en_IN | Tea buyers, banks, invoices and colleges |

The tools behind the layers an estate controls.
Each buyer's opt-in is stored with its source and time, so the consent layer holds, and a STOP stays in force even when the number comes back in a later import.
Draft one English dispatch template and Bengali and Hindi versions for buyers in India, and track each through Meta's approval.
A wholesaler at the junction who keeps accounts in Busy can send payment reminders on WhatsApp automatically, with no integration fee.
When a tea buyer abroad writes in, the estate can see that country's per-message rate in rupees before it sends a dispatch note.
