Incident and downtime notices get approved faster when they state scope and next-update time as variables instead of vague apologies. Reviewers flag bodies that read like PR statements with no user action.

Should trial expiry reminders be Utility or Marketing templates?

A reminder that only states the trial end date and what happens to the account is Utility. The moment you add a discount, an upgrade pitch or promotional language, Meta classifies it as Marketing. Most SaaS teams keep both: a Utility fact reminder at 3 days and a Marketing offer at 1 day.

Can we send product update and feature announcements on WhatsApp?

Yes, as Marketing templates sent only to users who opted in to product updates. Announce one feature per message with a clear link to try it, and always include an opt-out. Sending release-note digests to your whole user base without opt-in risks blocks and quality-rating drops.

How do incident notifications work during an outage?

Pre-approve two or three incident templates in advance so you are not waiting on Meta review mid-outage. Use variables for the affected service, impact summary and next update time. A resolved-notice template closes the loop and noticeably reduces inbound support volume.

Can WhatsApp replace email OTPs for login verification?

Yes. Authentication templates deliver one-time passcodes with a copy-code button and typically arrive faster than email in India. Meta fixes the format, so you cannot add branding or extra text, but delivery and read rates are consistently higher than SMS for app logins.
