What General Data Protection Regulation means
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union's comprehensive data-protection law. It requires a lawful basis (often consent) for processing personal data, transparency about how data is used, data-minimisation and security, and it grants individuals rights such as access, correction and erasure. It applies to organisations handling the data of people in the EU, wherever the organisation is based.
For WhatsApp, GDPR principles align closely with the platform's consent model: message people who have opted in, be clear about what they will receive and make opting out easy.
InfiQ's practices are aligned with GDPR principles alongside India's DPDP Act, helping customers handle contact data responsibly. This reflects alignment with the principles rather than a formal certification.
