Digital Personal Data Protection Act(DPDP Act)

Compliance & trust

Definition
India's data-protection law governing how businesses collect, use and safeguard the personal data of individuals in India.

What Digital Personal Data Protection Act means

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) is India's law for the protection of personal data. It sets obligations for businesses that handle the personal data of individuals in India, including collecting data lawfully with consent, using it only for the stated purpose, keeping it secure and honouring individuals' rights over their data.

For WhatsApp messaging, the DPDP Act reinforces the platform's own opt-in and opt-out requirements: you should have a lawful basis to message someone, be transparent about it and let them withdraw consent.

InfiQ's platform and practices are aligned with DPDP Act principles — consent capture, purpose limitation and data security — to help customers message compliantly. This is alignment with the principles, not a certification.
