What Green Tick (Official Business Account) means
The green tick denotes an Official Business Account (OBA) — a business whose authenticity and notability Meta has verified, shown as a green checkmark beside the display name in chats. It signals to customers that they are talking to the genuine brand, not an impostor.
The green tick is separate from being on the WhatsApp Business API: any API business gets a verified-business status, but the green OBA badge is granted selectively by Meta based on notability, and is not guaranteed. It cannot be bought.
