Zunheboto, the home of the Sumi Nagas, takes its name from a flowering shrub on a hill top. Its customers write in Sumi, Nagamese, English or Hindi, and only the last two can carry a WhatsApp template.
For Zunheboto's taxi operators on the Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur roads, its soybean growers' groups and traders, the homestays and guides near Ghosu and Satoi, and the shops that get busy before Tuluni and Ahuna: which message to send, in which language, and what it costs.
From the Zunheboto district administration's pages and Invest India's ODOP list; Wikipedia only for the Sumi festivals.
Zunheboto district came into existence on 19 December 1973.[2]
Its name joins two Sumi words: zunhebo, a flowering shrub with white leaves whose ears hold a sweet juice, and to, the top of a hill.[2]
The district calls itself the home of the Sumi Nagas, a martial tribe, which gives it the name Land of Warriors.[2]
It covers 1,255 sq km of mountains and dense forest, with 168 villages and eight blocks, between Mokokchung to the north, Phek to the south, Tuensang and Kiphire to the east, and Kohima and Wokha to the west.[1]
The district lists Hindi, English, Sumi and Nagamese as its languages.[1]
Shifting cultivation is the main livelihood, with terrace cultivation along the Tizu river, and the district says 80% of its people depend on agriculture and allied work.[3]
Invest India's One District One Product list names soybean for Zunheboto.[7]
The Satoi range is one of the district's last virgin forests, and the Ghosu bird sanctuary is 8 km from the headquarters.[5]
By road the town is 152 km from Kohima, 70 km from Mokokchung and 224 km from Dimapur, which has the nearest airport and railway station; bus and taxi services run on all three routes.[4]
See it work
A Zunheboto business talks to customers in four languages, and Meta approves templates in two of them. Answer the questions for your own message to see what you can send.
Most of the tree's traffic runs through its first branch, because customers usually write first and replies can be in any language. The template branches matter when a business has to start the conversation: a taxi leaving for Dimapur, an order ready before a festival.
The 24-hour service window explains when a reply needs no template.

Depth 0 of up to 3. Circles are questions, squares are outcomes.
Reply in their language
They wrote first, so for 24 hours you can answer in Sumi, Nagamese or anything else, with no template, at the service rate.
Path: “Today, in Sumi or Nagamese”
Send an authentication template
A one-time code in English or Hindi for a sign-in or a payment, charged at the authentication rate.
Path: “Not for several days” → “A login or payment code”
Send the English utility template
The seat, the departure time and the driver's number for the Dimapur run, as approved variables.
Path: “Not for several days” → “A taxi seat, a room or an order they paid for” → “English”
Send the Hindi utility template
The same note in its Hindi version, approved by Meta separately from the English one.
Path: “Not for several days” → “A taxi seat, a room or an order they paid for” → “Hindi”
Send a short English template, then reply in Sumi
Keep the template plain, with the numbers that matter. When the customer answers, the window opens and you can continue in Sumi or Nagamese.
Path: “Not for several days” → “A taxi seat, a room or an order they paid for” → “Only Sumi or Nagamese”
Send a marketing template
A festival offer in English or Hindi, only to customers who said yes, at the marketing rate, with a way to stop.
Path: “Not for several days” → “An Ahuna or Tuluni offer” → “Yes, and we noted when”
Do not send it yet
Ask first, at the counter or in the next chat the customer starts. Offers to people who never agreed draw blocks and lower the number's quality rating.
Path: “Not for several days” → “An Ahuna or Tuluni offer” → “No, or we are not sure”
Question 1: When did this customer last write to you? 2 options.
Four kinds of business that follow from the district's roads, fields, forests and festivals.
Bus and taxi services run to Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur, where passengers catch flights and trains.[4]
Soybean is the district's ODOP entry, and most families live by farming, so collection and payment notes reach many villages.[7],[3]
The Ghosu bird sanctuary is 8 km from the headquarters, and the Satoi range is among the district's last virgin forests.[5]
Tuluni, a midyear festival of feasting and reconciliation, and Ahuna, the post-harvest thanksgiving on 13–14 November, are the Sumi festivals that bring families together.[6]
Of the four languages the district lists, English and Hindi are Meta template languages; Sumi and Nagamese are not. Meta approves each template version separately.
Sumi and Nagamese belong in replies: once a customer writes, staff can answer in either for 24 hours. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.

No. Meta approves templates only in its listed languages, and Sumi and Nagamese are not among them, so write templates in English or Hindi. Replies are different: inside the 24-hour window after a customer writes, your staff can answer in Sumi or Nagamese at ₹0.145 per message.
Only customers who agreed to hear about offers from you. A festival offer is a marketing template at ₹0.94 per delivered message, in English or Hindi. Ask the others first, at the counter or in the next chat they start, and InfiQ keeps a record of each opt-in.
