- A guest on our PortMiami cruise package is roaming on an Indian SIM. Is her boarding-pass message billed at the US rate?
- No. Meta prices every message by the recipient's country calling code, so a +91 number is billed at the India rate, ₹0.19 for a utility template, wherever the guest happens to be. The US marketing rule does not apply to her either: with her opt-in, a +91 number can receive marketing templates.
- Our Miami distributor wants our new generic-medicines price list pushed to its buyers' 305 and 786 numbers. Can WhatsApp do that?
- No. WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy does not allow buying, selling or promoting drugs, prescription or otherwise, so a generic-medicines price list cannot go on WhatsApp at all, as a template or as a reply, in any market. Meta also does not deliver marketing templates to US numbers. Keep the price list on email or the distributor's portal.
- Does Florida's solicitation statute, section 501.059, reach our WhatsApp replies to Miami customers?
- Unsettled. The statute covers telephone calls, text messages and voicemail made to sell consumer goods or services, and requires prior express written consent for automated sales calls; it does not mention app messaging. Keep service replies to what the customer asked, record every opt-in, and honour STOP at once.
- A Brickell bank's operations lead messages our Pune desk at 4 p.m. on a Friday. Can we answer on Saturday morning, India time, without a template?
- Yes. 16:00 on a Friday in Miami is 01:30 on Saturday in India during daylight saving, and 02:30 in winter. The 24-hour window stays open until the same time on Saturday afternoon in Miami, so a free-form reply from Pune on Saturday morning is a service message at ₹0.2989.
- Our boarding-document template for PortMiami guests carries a PDF. Will it pass as a utility template?
- It should, if it is only about the booking: a document header with the boarding passes and a body naming the sailing and the boarding time. Keep upgrade offers and excursion deals out of it, and send those separately as marketing, which only works for guests on non-US numbers who opted in.
- We are a Miami company with an engineering centre in Hyderabad. Can our Florida entity hold the InfiQ account?
