India–Portugal trade was US$1,145.53 million in 2025-26: Indian exports of US$947.56 million and Portuguese exports of US$197.97 million.[2]

Textiles and apparel, agricultural products and metals lead India's exports to Portugal; machinery and appliances lead Portugal's exports to India.[2]

Indian companies in Portugal include Generis (part of Aurobindo Pharma), the MGM Group's hotels, the Sugee Group in real estate, and Wipro, HCL and TCS; Indian investment is estimated at up to US$223.23 million.[2]

Official figures put 98,616 Indian nationals in Portugal and about 180,000 people of Indian origin, including 14,125 OCI cardholders, mainly in the Lisbon metropolitan region.[3]

The Embassy has inaugurated Portuguese language classes for Indian immigrants.[1]

The Port of Lisbon spans 11 municipalities, counts 19 million river and sea passengers, ranks itself first in dry bulk handling, and runs container terminals at Alcântara and Santa Apolónia.[4]
