WhatsApp Business API for Kovilpatti's kadalai mittai makers and highway trade

Kovilpatti's kadalai mittai leaves town in travellers' bags on NH 44. WhatsApp is how the next order comes back.

Kovilpatti sits on NH 44, and its kadalai mittai leaves town in travellers' bags. The sale at the counter is the first order; the API is how a unit answers the second, from wherever the box ended up.

For Kovilpatti's kadalai mittai makers, the traders of its daily market, its hockey academies and sports shops, and the cars and lodges that take visitors to Kalugumalai: how a reorder comes back on WhatsApp from a box bought on NH 44, which messages need templates, Tamil templates and the rupee cost of each.

A box bought on NH 44, reordered from Chennai

A traveller bought kadalai mittai at a Kovilpatti counter on the way south. Weeks later she wants more. Step through the reorder to see which messages are replies and which go as templates.

Everything up to the payment link is conversation, because the traveller wrote first. The dispatch note days later is the one message the unit sends on its own, so it goes as an approved utility template about her order.

The last step matters most for next time. A festival pack announced to buyers who never asked is a marketing message that needs their agreement; asking for it while she is already writing, and recording the yes, is the honest way to get it.

Kovilpatti in six lines

From the Kovilpatti municipality and Thoothukudi district pages, Invest India's ODOP list and Meta; the road, the sweet and Kalugumalai are general background from Wikipedia.

Kovilpatti was constituted a third grade municipality in 1964 from parts of Kovilpatti and Illupaiurani villages, and upgraded to a selection grade municipality in 1998. It covers 6.48 sq km.[1]

The municipality's own page lists a daily market and a bus stand among its services, and shows its science park and knowledge centre.[1]

Thoothukudi district was carved out of Tirunelveli district on 20 October 1986 and named after V. O. Chidambaranar of Ottapidaram, who led the Swadeshi Movement in the south; since 1997 it has carried the name of its headquarters town.[2]

Invest India's One District One Product list names marine foods for Thoothukudi.[3]

The town lies along NH 44, has two bus stations and a railway station, is known for kadalai mittai and is nicknamed Hockeypatti; Kalugumalai, a 300 ft rock with two rock-cut temples, is on the road to Sankarankovil.[5]

Meta lets a business send free-form messages only inside the 24-hour window a customer opens, and prices each delivered message by category and the recipient's country calling code.[4]

Language

Tamil first, English for the parcel desk

Tamil carries the templates for most Kovilpatti customers; English covers couriers, invoices and buyers outside the state. Meta approves each language version separately.

Inside the 24-hour window, staff can reply in whatever language a customer writes. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.

Questions Kovilpatti businesses ask

Travellers on NH 44 buy kadalai mittai at our Kovilpatti counter. Can a QR on the box let them reorder from home?+
Yes. A click-to-chat QR opens WhatsApp with your number and a first line filled in. When the traveller sends it, a 24-hour window opens, and your rates, photos and payment link go as replies at ₹0.145 each, with no template.
A sweet shop in another district takes kadalai mittai from our Kovilpatti unit every month. Which of our messages to it need templates?+
Replies to the shop's own questions need none. The order confirmation and dispatch note you send on your own are utility templates at ₹0.19. A message nudging the shop to reorder is closer to marketing, so send it only if the shop agreed to receive offers.
Kovilpatti is nicknamed Hockeypatti. Can our hockey academy send practice and match schedules to players' parents?+
Yes, to parents who gave their number for it. A schedule for a player already enrolled is a utility template at ₹0.19. A camp for new players advertised to every parent is marketing at ₹0.94, and goes only to those who opted in.
Visitors book our car to the rock-cut temples at Kalugumalai from Kovilpatti. Can we send the pickup time and the driver's number?+
Yes. A booking confirmation and a pickup reminder with the driver's number are utility templates about a trip already booked. Keep offers for other trips out of them, or Meta may classify the message as marketing, which needs the visitor's opt-in.
Traders at Kovilpatti's daily market want to send rates to regular buyers every morning. Does that count as marketing?+
It depends who starts it. If a buyer asks for the day's rates, your answer is a reply at ₹0.145. A rate list sent every morning to buyers who did not ask is a marketing template, and needs each buyer's recorded agreement first.
Some of our Kovilpatti kadalai mittai goes to relatives in Singapore. What does a dispatch note to a Singapore number cost?+
Meta charges by the recipient's country code, so a Singapore number is billed at InfiQ's published rate for that market, shown in rupees on the [pricing page](/pricing). The same note to an Indian +91 number costs ₹0.19.
