Jaora in seven lines

Ratlam district was created in June 1948 and reorganised in January 1949 from the former princely states of Ratlam, Jaora, Sailana and Piploda; it lists Malwi and Hindi as its languages.[1]
Jaora lies in the Malwa region between Ratlam and Mandsaur, and was the capital of Jaora state, founded by 'Abdu'l Ghafur Muhammad Khan, a cavalry officer of Afghan descent.[3]
The British confirmed the state in 1818 under the Treaty of Mandsaur, and the Nawabs of Jaora are listed from 1817 onwards.[3]
The Hussain Tekri shrine draws large crowds during Muharram, and Jains come to Jaora because the ascetic Rajendrasuri practised tapasya there.[3]
Jaora station is on the Ratlam–Ajmer section, and the Mhow–Neemuch state highway passes through the town.[3]
Invest India's ODOP list names Ratlami namkeen for Ratlam district, and the district's sights include the Cactus Garden at Sailana and the Virupaksh Mahadev temple at Bilpank.[2],[1]
