WhatsApp Business API for Jalgaon's banana trade, pipe makers and jewellers

The district site calls Jalgaon the Banana City, and Invest India lists the Jalgaon banana and PVC pipes as its products. Each trade sends the same four kinds of WhatsApp message, at four different rates.

For Jalgaon's banana packhouses and traders, PVC pipe makers, jewellers, pulses and cotton merchants and travel desks: how to tell a reply from a utility, marketing or passcode template before you send, which languages to approve, and what each message costs in rupees.

Jalgaon in eight lines

From the district administration's pages and Invest India's ODOP list.

Jalgaon district covers 11,765 sq km in north-west Maharashtra, with the Satpuda ranges to the north and the Ajanta ranges to the south.[2]

The 2011 census counted 42,29,917 people in 1,513 villages and 20 towns.[2]

The Tapi is its principal river, flowing west to the Arabian Sea; the Girna and Waghur are among the others.[2]

Its major crops are banana, wheat, millet, lime, groundnut, cotton and sugarcane, on volcanic soil the district calls well suited to cotton.[2]

The district describes itself as a major business centre for tea, gold, pulses, cotton and bananas.[2]

Invest India's One District One Product list names the Jalgaon banana as its product, with plastic PVC pipes second.[5]

East Khandesh became present-day Jalgaon in 1906, and the district joined Maharashtra in 1960.[2]

Jalgaon airport is about 6 km from the city; trains from Jalgaon Junction reach New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, and MSRTC buses run to Indore and Surat.[3]

Industries

Jalgaon's trades and the messages they send

Five businesses the district's own pages point to.

  1. 01

    Banana packhouses and traders

The Jalgaon banana is the district's ODOP product; growers ask about rates and loading, and buyers outside the state want the truck details.[5],[2]

On WhatsApp: Rate replies to growers who ask · Loading slip and truck number to buyers · Payment confirmation to growers

  2. 02

    PVC pipe makers and dealers

Plastic PVC pipes are the district's second ODOP product, sold through dealers who order, chase dispatch and settle accounts.[5]

On WhatsApp: Dealer order acknowledgement · Dispatch with vehicle number · Invoice PDF and payment reminder

  3. 03

    Jewellers

Gold is among the trades the district names; customers ask for designs and weights before they visit.[2]

On WhatsApp: Design photos in reply to a customer · Order-ready notice · Festival offers to opted-in customers

  4. 04

    Pulses and cotton merchants

Pulses and cotton sit beside bananas in the district's own list of its trade, with buyers across state lines.[2]

On WhatsApp: Lot and sample photos · Contract confirmation · Dispatch and payment updates

  5. 05

    Travel desks and temple-town lodges

Padmalaya, about 30 km from the city, and the Muktabai temple at Muktainagar on the Tapi–Purna confluence draw visitors through Jalgaon.[4]

On WhatsApp: Car and room booking confirmation · Pickup time and driver name · Replies to family enquiries

Which kind of message is this?

Before a Jalgaon business sends anything, two questions decide whether it is a free reply, a template, and at which rate. Answer them for your own message.

The tree is the same for a packhouse and a jeweller; what changes is how often each branch comes up. A trader who mostly answers growers lives in the first branch and pays the service rate. A pipe maker whose dealers rarely write lives in the utility branch.

Question 1 · up to 3

Has this customer messaged you in the last 24 hours?

Your answers

None yet — pick an answer to start down the tree.

Path map

Depth 0 of up to 3. Circles are questions, squares are outcomes.

All possible outcomes (5)
  • Reply freely

Text, photos or a PDF in any language, no template needed, each reply charged at the service rate. A grower asking about today's banana rate gets the answer this way.

    Path: “Yes, they wrote today”

  • Send a utility template

An approved template about their own transaction: a pipe dealer's dispatch with the vehicle number, a truck loading slip, a jewellery order ready for pickup.

Path: “No, or not since last week” → “An order, dispatch or payment they already have with you”

  • Send an authentication template

A one-time passcode for a customer signing in to your dealer portal or confirming a payment, charged at the authentication rate.

Path: “No, or not since last week” → “A login or payment passcode”

  • Send a marketing template

A festival offer from a jeweller or a new-season notice from a packhouse, sent only to customers who opted in, at the marketing rate.

Path: “No, or not since last week” → “An offer, a new rate or a new design” → “Yes, and we recorded it”

  • Do not send yet

Ask for consent first, at the counter, on an invoice or in the next conversation the customer starts. Sending offers without an opt-in risks blocks and a lower quality rating.

Path: “No, or not since last week” → “An offer, a new rate or a new design” → “No, or we are not sure”

A simplified guide to Meta's categories. Meta makes the final call on each template's category when it approves it, and can re-categorise a template that does not fit.

Question 1: Has this customer messaged you in the last 24 hours? 2 options.

Marathi for growers, Hindi for buyers across the border

Meta approves each template once per language. Jalgaon borders Madhya Pradesh, so many firms keep Hindi beside Marathi.

Replies inside the 24-hour window can be in any language your staff write, Ahirani included. InfiQ's own support team works in English and Hindi.

Questions Jalgaon businesses ask

  1. Q1

Our banana packhouse near Jalgaon loads trucks for buyers in north India. Can the buyer get the loading slip and truck number on WhatsApp?

Yes. A utility template with a document header carries the loading slip, the truck number and the expected arrival, at ₹0.19 per delivered message to an Indian number. Send it to buyer contacts who agreed to receive dispatch updates; their replies open a 24-hour window for free answers.

  2. Q2

Growers from Raver and Yawal ask our trading firm about the day's banana rate. Is our reply a marketing message?

No. A reply to a grower who asked, within 24 hours of their message, is a free-form reply at ₹0.145. Sending the day's rate unasked to every grower on your list is different: it is usually classed as marketing, at ₹0.94, and needs each grower's opt-in.

  3. Q3

Our PVC pipe unit near Jalgaon ships to dealers in three states. Can our ERP send dispatch and invoice messages by itself?

Yes. InfiQ's developer API, included on Growth and an add-on on Lite, lets your ERP send approved utility templates with the dispatch details or the invoice PDF as soon as each is raised, at ₹0.19 per delivered message. Dealers' replies land in the shared inbox.

  4. Q4

Our gold showroom in Jalgaon wants to send Akshaya Tritiya offers. Who can we send them to?

Only customers who agreed to receive offers from you. A festival offer is a marketing template at ₹0.94 per delivered message, approved in Marathi, Hindi or both. Customers who never opted in should be asked first, for example when they collect an order.

  5. Q5

Families book our cars from Jalgaon to Padmalaya and Muktainagar. Can the booking desk and the drivers share one number?

Yes. The shared team inbox gives 10 users on Lite and 25 on Growth, with transfers and private notes, so the desk confirms the booking and the driver answers the family's questions on the day from the same number. A pickup reminder is a utility template at ₹0.19.

  6. Q6

Dealers in Indore and Surat write to our Jalgaon firm in Hindi, growers in Marathi. Do we need two versions of every template?

Of the templates you send them, yes: Meta approves each language version separately, so keep Marathi (mr) and Hindi (hi) versions and pick by the contact's preference. Replies inside the 24-hour window need no template, in any language.
