A business day in Chalisgaon
Chalisgaon is a junction, CSN on the timetable, and a gateway: Patna Devi lies 18 km away in the Gautala sanctuary. Most of its trade starts when someone asks a question, and on WhatsApp that question can start with a link.
A cotton trader sends a grower the weighment slip and the amount before the mandi opens.
A family off the morning train taps the cab board at the station: a car to Patna Devi?
A pipe dealer sends a farmer the quote he asked for, as a PDF in the same chat.
The cab owner sends the return pickup time from the Pitalkhora caves car park.
A lodge near the junction confirms tomorrow's room for a traveller changing for Dhule.
For Chalisgaon's cab and bus operators who run visitors to Patna Devi and Pitalkhora, the lodges near the junction, the cotton traders and the PVC pipe dealers who serve the taluka's farmers: how a wa.me link lets the customer write first, which messages then need a template, and what each costs in rupees.
See it work
Type your business number and the first message a visitor would send, separated by a bar, and get the wa.me link to print on a board, a cab's dashboard card or a lodge receipt. The visitor taps it and writes first.
A board at the bus station or a card on the dashboard works best when the first message is already written for the visitor: the cab for Patna Devi, a room near the junction, the day's cotton rate. They tap, send, and the conversation is theirs to start.
The prefilled text is URL-encoded, so Marathi and Hindi survive the link. Ask for consent to offers separately, at the counter or on the booking form, and keep a record of it.
A wa.me link opens a WhatsApp chat with a number, optionally with a pre-filled message.

From the Jalgaon district administration's pages, Invest India's ODOP list and, for the railway line, Wikipedia.
Jalgaon district lists Chalisgaon among its major urban centres, and the Manyad Dam in Chalisgaon taluka among its water-supply sources.[1]
The district covers 11,765 sq km; East Khandesh became the present Jalgaon district in 1906 and part of Maharashtra in 1960.[1]
The district calls itself a major business centre for tea, gold, pulses, cotton and bananas, and says its volcanic soil is well suited to cotton.[1]
Invest India's One District One Product list names the Jalgaon banana for the district, with plastic PVC pipes second.[4]
Marathi is the main language, Ahirani and Hindi are also spoken, and Hindi more so near the Madhya Pradesh border.[1]
Shri Kshetra Patna Devi is 18 km from Chalisgaon in the Gautala Wildlife Sanctuary, which the district calls a storehouse of sandalwood; the Pitalkhora caves are about 3 km from the temple.[2]
The district links the area to the mathematician Bhaskaracharya, and says the temple first opened to the public on a solar eclipse day in 1228 A.D.; the Dhavaltirth and Kedarkund waterfalls lie on the path.[2]
Near Chalisgaon's railway station, a gallery built by the Government of Maharashtra beside his British-era mansion keeps the work of K. K. Moos, a pioneer of tabletop photography.[3]
Chalisgaon Junction is on the Mumbai–Bhusawal main line with a branch south to Dhule, and State Transport buses and forest department buses run visitors to Patna Devi.[5],[2]
Four businesses that follow from the junction, the sanctuary and the district's fields.
Visitors come through Chalisgaon Junction for Patna Devi, the Pitalkhora caves and the Gautala sanctuary's waterfalls, 18 km out.[2],[5]
The station sits on the Mumbai–Bhusawal line with a branch to Dhule, and the K. K. Moos gallery stands near it.[5],[3]
The district names cotton among the goods it trades in bulk and says its volcanic soil suits the crop.[1]
Plastic PVC pipes are Jalgaon's second ODOP product, and the district grows banana, sugarcane, cotton and wheat.[4],[1]
