Hero MotoCorp inaugurated a motorcycle plant at Villa Rica, in Cauca near Cali, in 2015, and Essel Propack set up a packaging factory in the same region in 2016.[1]

Praj Industries built ethanol plants in the Valle del Cauca, and Thermax installed a biomass boiler for Nestlé at Bugalagrande.[1]

Invest Pacific describes the Valle del Cauca as Colombia's leading region for agro-inputs, the national leader in food and beverage production and export and in healthcare services, and calls Alfonso Bonilla Aragón the country's third most important airport.[2]

ProColombia names Cali among six metropolitan areas of over a million people where BPO operations can scale; the sector passed 705,000 jobs by the end of 2021.[3]
