Interactive Message

Messaging & templates

Definition
A WhatsApp message with structured tappable elements — buttons or list menus — instead of plain text, to guide customer replies.

What Interactive Message means

An interactive message is a WhatsApp message that includes structured, tappable UI rather than only text. The main formats are reply-button messages (up to three quick reply buttons), list messages (a menu the customer opens to pick an option) and CTA-URL messages that link out.

Interactive messages make automated conversations clearer and reduce free-text errors, because customers select from defined choices. They are widely used in chatbots, menus, appointment booking and order flows. The customer's selection returns via webhook, so software can act on it.

InfiQ supports interactive messages in both templates and chatbot flows, letting you build guided WhatsApp journeys without forcing customers to type.
