WhatsApp Business API for Veraval's harbour traders and Somnath guest houses

One coastal town, two very different trades. The harbour sells to buyers who want rates and lot details; Prabhas Patan hosts pilgrims who want a room near the temple. Both can run on the same WhatsApp API, written two ways.

For Veraval's seafood traders, the guest houses and hotels around Somnath, kesar mango packers and the cab desks that run visitors to Gir: what each trade sends on WhatsApp, which messages Meta charges as utility, marketing or service, and the rupee cost.

See it work

The harbour and the temple, message by message

A seafood trading house at the harbour and a guest house in Prabhas Patan, a few kilometres apart. Compare what each writes, to whom, and how Meta files it.

A harbour buyer who asks for the day's rate opens a 24-hour window, and the answer is a service reply. The same rate list sent unasked each morning is a marketing template and goes only to buyers who agreed to it. That line matters more in Veraval's fish trade than anywhere in its hotel trade.

A guest house near the temple sends far more confirmations than offers. Its everyday work is answering families before they travel, inside the 24-hour service window.

Verdict

Both live mostly on utility templates and service replies. The trading house writes to fewer people more often; the guest house writes to many people a few times each.

Illustrative comparison, not data. Utility templates are about something the customer ordered or booked; marketing templates promote; replies inside the 24-hour window are service messages.

Verdict: Both live mostly on utility templates and service replies. The trading house writes to fewer people more often; the guest house writes to many people a few times each.
