WhatsApp Business API for Sirsi's areca traders, spice gardens and jatre lodges
Sirsi's areca growers sell by tender through a co-operative founded in 1923, and its Marikamba jatre comes round every alternate year. A trader's WhatsApp number has to be ready for both.
Trade 1
Arecanut
Areca is sold by tender at Sirsi's New Market Yard, home of a growers' co-operative founded in 1923.
Trade 2
Spices
Spices are Uttara Kannada's ODOP product; cardamom and pepper grow beside the areca around the town.
For Sirsi's arecanut traders and commission agents, the spice gardens of the Western Ghats taluk, the lodges and cabs that fill in a Marikamba jatre year and the Yakshagana troupes booked from the town: a checklist for the first season on the API, and what each message costs in rupees.

Ready a Sirsi areca trader's number for its first tender day
A commission agent who already answers growers on the WhatsApp Business app moves to the API before the season. Tick through what has to be done before the first sale note goes out, and what can wait.
Three items cannot wait: verification, an approved sale-note template and a record of each grower's agreement. The rest can be added between tender days.

Sirsi in eight lines
From the Uttara Kannada district administration, the Totgars' Cooperative Sale Society's site and Invest India's ODOP list, with the town's history, crops and places as general background from Wikipedia.
Sirsi is one of Uttara Kannada's 12 taluks; the Aghanashini flows through Kumta, Siddapur and Sirsi taluks, and the Varada through Sirsi taluk.[1]
The Totgars' Cooperative Sale Society was founded in September 1923, has its head office at New Market Yard, Sirsi 581402, and works in Siddapur, Yellapur and Mundgod as well.[2]
The society sells growers' arecanut by tender, runs a supermarket, makes fertilisers and cattle feed, and mills rice.[2]
Invest India's ODOP list names spices as Uttara Kannada's primary product and Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing as its secondary one.[3]
The town lies in the central Western Ghats; its name comes from the siris tree, and a hero-stone of 1150 AD carries its earliest mention. Under the Sonda rulers it was also called Kalyana Pattana.[4]
The Marikamba temple was built in 1688, and its jatre is held every alternate year; Yakshagana is regularly performed in and around the town.[4]
Cardamom, pepper, betel leaf and vanilla grow around Sirsi, with rice the main food crop.[4]
Sahasralinga lies about 10 km away, Banavasi, the old Kadamba capital, about 24 km and Unchalli falls about 30 km; the nearest railheads are Talaguppa and Kumta, and the nearest airport is Hubli.[4],[1]

Kannada templates, English for buyers further away
Kannada is the official language and the one growers and most visitors write in. Konkani, which some customers speak, is not a Meta template language.
Each language is its own version of a template, approved by Meta separately. Replies inside the 24-hour window can be in Konkani, Kannada or anything a customer writes. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.

What a Sirsi business runs on InfiQ
Matched to the checklist above.
- Guided onboarding
InfiQ guides Meta business verification, number registration and display-name approval; with verification done, a number is typically live in about two hours.
InfiQ guides Meta business verification, number registration and display-name approval, the first item on the checklist.
- WhatsApp Coexistence
Keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number while the API runs alongside it, within Meta's coexistence limits.
A trader whose growers already know the number keeps the WhatsApp Business app on it while the API sends sale notes.
- Consent records and opt-out enforcement
Each contact's opt-in source and time are recorded, STOP replies are enforced at platform level (even against later imports), and the audit trail exports.
Each grower's yes is stored with its date and source, and STOP is enforced even if an old contact list is imported later.

Questions Sirsi businesses ask
Question: Growers ask our Sirsi commission agency on tender day how their areca lot sold. Is our answer a template?
Answer: Not if the grower asked. A grower who writes opens a 24-hour window, so the rate and the weight for the lot are replies at ₹0.145. A sale note sent the next day, without a question first, is a utility template at ₹0.19.
Question: Our Sirsi lodge fills up in a Marikamba jatre year. Can we tell last jatre's guests when bookings open?
Answer: Only guests who agreed to hear from you. A booking-open message is a marketing template at ₹0.94, and a stay two years ago is not a yes. Ask at checkout, and InfiQ records when and where each guest agreed.
Question: Villages book our Yakshagana troupe near Sirsi for night shows. Can the organiser get the show time and the van's arrival on WhatsApp?
Answer: Yes. A confirmation for a show the organiser booked is a utility template at ₹0.19, in Kannada with the date, the venue and the arrival time as variables. The organiser's questions about the stage or the fee are replies at ₹0.145.
Question: Visitors ask our Sirsi cab service for Sahasralinga, Unchalli falls and Banavasi in one day. Are our replies charged as templates?
Answer: No. The visitor wrote first, so the route, the timing and the fare are replies inside the 24-hour window at ₹0.145 each. If they book and you send the pickup time the evening before, that reminder is a utility template.
Question: Our spice shop in Sirsi sends cardamom and pepper parcels to buyers in Bengaluru. Can the parcel number go on WhatsApp?
Answer: Yes. A dispatch note for an order the buyer placed is a utility template at ₹0.19, with the courier, the tracking number and the weight as variables, in Kannada or English. It costs the India rate wherever in India the buyer is.
Question: Some growers who sell at Sirsi's market yard speak Konkani at home. Which language should our sale note use?
Answer: Konkani is not a Meta template language, so the approved sale note must be in Kannada (kn), English (en_IN) or another language on Meta's list. When a grower writes to you in Konkani, your replies can be in Konkani.
