Twelve and a half hours: the opposite clock
Seattle keeps Pacific Time, UTC−8, and moves an hour forward from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. India stays on UTC+5:30, so the gap is twelve and a half hours in summer and thirteen and a half in winter. 09:00 in Seattle is 21:30 IST in summer and 22:30 IST in winter; In summer, 09:00 in India is 20:30 the previous evening in Seattle.
There is almost no shared working day, and that is the point of designing for it. Systems send the notices that should be waiting when Seattle wakes; an evening shift in India covers the Seattle morning; a morning shift picks up what the Seattle afternoon left behind. WhatsApp suits the arrangement because the thread survives the hand-over.
Two habits help. Hold anything that is not urgent until about 07:00 Pacific, which is 19:30 IST in summer, so it arrives with the client's day rather than in the middle of their night. And state times in both zones in any message that mentions one, because 'Thursday at four' means two different days in Seattle and Bengaluru.
