Roha and Raigad in eight lines

Raigad, previously known as Kolaba, is in Konkan Division; the Arabian Sea coast forms its western boundary and its hills belong to the Sahyadri range.[1]
The district site names the Raigad, Kolaba, Murud-Janjira and Sudhagad forts, the Ashtavinayak temples and the Elephanta caves, and calls parts of the district the historic hinterland of the Bene Israel Jews.[1]
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, the state's only technological university, is in Raigad, and the district site speaks of industrial complexes of national importance.[1]

The Konkan Railway's 741-km line connects Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka, and was the missing link between Mumbai and Mangalore.[3]
Roha station is the northern terminus of the Konkan Railway and is joined to Mumbai by the Panvel–Roha line; the town lies close to NH 66, the Mumbai–Goa highway, by Kolad Road.[4]
The Kundalika flows from the Sahyadri to the Arabian Sea past Kolad, Roha, Korlai, Chaul and Salav; rafting at Kolad rides the water released from the dams upstream and is sometimes unavailable at the peak of summer.[5]
C. D. Deshmukh, the first Indian Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, from 1943 to 1949, was born in Roha.[4]
