Two kinds of customer, one Medininagar dal mill's inbox

Medininagar and Palamu, from the district and the record

Palamu lies in north-western Jharkhand, bordering Chatra, Garhwa, Latehar and Bihar; its headquarters, Daltonganj (Medininagar), stands on the Koel, and its rivers include the Son and the Auranga.[1]
Daltonganj took its name from Colonel Dalton, Commissioner of Chhotanagpur in 1861; the district says its new name honours the king Medini Rai, and the state government made the change in 2004.[1],[6]
The district's history page records Man Singh's march against the Cheros around 1589, Captain Camac taking Palamu fort on 21 March 1771, and Daltonganj as subdivision headquarters soon after 1857.[2]
Its main crops are paddy and sugarcane; its listed minerals include iron ore, bauxite, dolomite and coal, and its industries a caustic chemicals plant, a cement company and furniture makers.[1]
