The Airports Authority of India describes Kishangarh as Asia's largest marble centre, drawing tourists, marble traders, artists and academics.[1]
Kishangarh airport has been in operation since October 2017, with regular Q-400 and ATR-72 flights from October 2018; Rajasthan Tourism puts it about 30 km from Ajmer.[1],[2]

Rajasthan contributes significantly to India's dimensional and decorative stones, among them marble, sandstone and granite, and marble is one of its key industries.[4]
The town was founded by Raja Kishan Singh Rathore, a son of Raja Udai Singh of Jodhpur, on the banks of Gundalao lake, and was the capital of a princely state of the same name.[5]
Kishangarh Fort's Phool Mahal shows the splendour of the Rathore kings in murals and frescoes, with the Gundu lav talab and Hamir Sagar lakes beside it.[2]
