WhatsApp Business API for Jagraon's guesthouses, mela stalls and traders
Jagraon was founded in 1688 and is best known for the Roshni Mela, which brings visitors from four states. Most of them write before they come, and a guesthouse has to answer all of them at once.

For the guesthouses and stalls that fill for Jagraon's Roshni Mela, the cabs that take visitors to Lala Lajpat Rai's house and Guru Sar at Kaunke, and the traders in Ludhiana district's garments and engineering goods: how a visitor's question reaches the right person, and what each message costs in rupees.
See it work
One Roshni Mela room question, rising layer by layer
A family in Haryana asks a Jagraon guesthouse for a room for the mela nights. Lift the question from their phone through each layer until it reaches the owner.
Nothing in this climb costs a template, because the family started it. The template comes later, if at all: a confirmation the evening before they set out, when they have stopped writing.
During the mela the menu does most of the work. Every visitor asks about rooms, parking and the way to the mazar, and the staff see only the chats that need a person.
From a visitor's phone to the owner's
PayloadIs there a room for the Roshni Mela nights?
Enters at the bottom, travels up through 6 layers
Hop 6 of 6: the payload is in layer 1, The owner's phone. Through coexistence the owner still sees the chat on the WhatsApp Business app, on the same number.
Jagraon in seven lines
Invest India's ODOP list and IBEF's Punjab profile; the town's history, mela and distances are general background from Wikipedia.
Rai Kamaluddin of Raikot established Jagraon in 1688; the name is linked to a phrase for a place of great flooding, and the Satluj runs about 16 km away.[1]
Guru Hargobind visited the area in 1631–1632; Gurdwara Guru Sar in Kaunke village, about 7 km south-west of the town, marks the visit.[1]
Jagraon is the home of Lala Lajpat Rai; his house is now a municipal library, and his statue stands at the bus stand.[1]
The town is best known for the Roshni Mela at the mazar of Peer Baba Mohkumdeen, which draws visitors from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.[1]
Jagraon is a sub-division of Ludhiana district near the geographical centre of Punjab, about 37 km from Ludhiana, 29 km from Moga and 31 km from Nakodar.[1]
Invest India's ODOP list names readymade garments and engineering goods for Ludhiana district.[2]
IBEF describes Punjab as a key hub for yarn, readymade garments and hosiery and lists Punjabi, Hindi and English as its languages.[3]

Who in Jagraon answers on WhatsApp
Four businesses that follow from the mela, the town's history and the district's ODOP list.
- 01
Guesthouses and rooms for mela visitors

The mela at Peer Baba Mohkumdeen's mazar is what the town is best known for.[1]
On WhatsApp: Order and price answers · Order-ready notes · Mela-week notes to customers who opted in
- 03
Cabs for Kaunke, Moga and Ludhiana
Gurdwara Guru Sar is about 7 km away at Kaunke, Moga 29 km and Ludhiana about 37 km.[1]
On WhatsApp: Fare replies · Pickup reminders · Driver name and vehicle number
- 04

Four states' visitors in one week
In mela week, Jagraon's guesthouses answer four states' questions on one number.
A fair that draws people from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal brings questions in Punjabi and Hindi all at once, most of them the same: is there a room, where can the car be parked, how far is the mazar. A guesthouse answering them one by one from a single phone falls behind on the first evening.
On WhatsApp's official API the answers cost the service rate because the visitors asked, and the repeated ones can come from a menu. What is left for staff is the booking itself, and the one template that follows it.
Punjabi and Hindi for the mela, English for the bills
All three are Meta template languages, and each version is its own template under the same name.
Replies need no template, so staff answer in whatever language a visitor writes. InfiQ's own support works in English and Hindi.
| Language | Meta code | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Punjabi | pa | Visitors and customers from Punjab |
| Hindi | hi | Visitors from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh |
| English (India) | en_IN | Invoices, dispatch notes and buyers' offices |
