A producer company's busiest WhatsApp days are the first two steps: shops ask about the new crop, the price and the grain, and someone answers. Those answers are free-form because the shop wrote first; the 24-hour service window explains how long that lasts.

Buxar became a district in 1991, formed from areas of the old Bhojpur district, with its headquarters at Buxar town.[1]

It covers 1,624 sq km in two subdivisions, Buxar Sadar and Dumraon, with 11 blocks, 2 nagar parishads and 3 nagar panchayats.[1]

Ballia and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh lie to the north and west, Rohtas to the south and Bhojpur to the east.[1]

The district says the name Buxar comes from VyaghraSar, and places sage Vishwamitra's ashram on the banks of the Ganga here.[2]

Humayun and Sher Shah fought at Chausa in 1539; the Battle of Buxar of 1764 was fought at Katkauli, about six kilometres from the town, where a memorial stone still stands.[2]

Sonachur rice is the district's One District One Product, adopted in 2022 and grown organically; about 200 acres of a 1,000-acre organic corridor are under Sonachur, with 500 acres planned in a second phase.[3]
